I installed the updated CM 10.1 yesterday. I'm still bringing it up to speed as I did a complete wipe/phone reset. This ROM looks very promising.

I was unable to install this ROM using TWRP. CWM worked OK.

I keep zips of both CWM and TWRP in a handy place so I can change recovery or installation methods as needed. I really prefer TWRP, but if CWM is what's required, so be it. I reinstalled TWRP after flashing and made a nandroid of CM 10.1. The nandroid of CM 10.1 works fine.

I have TWRP nandroids of both CM 10.1 and CM 11 on my sdcard. Each one seems to restore fine.

I'm holding high hopes for CM 11, but this CM 10.1 may well be the pinnacle of achievement for this phone.

Either way, I can't lose. ☺

BTW, I bought a two-battery-plus-charger kit on Amazon last week. The new battery (either one) lasts about 150% as long as my tired original battery (Jan '12). Because of shipping costs, I bought more than I needed, maybe just a single battery w/o charger would've been more cost-effective. Was $21 w/shipping.

Edit: I'm unclear if this ROM was updated recently, but in any case I installed the ROM linked to in the OP of this thread.

Sent from Grouper Nexus 7 using XDA Premium app. Peace!

Did you do the 10.1 build yourself? I've tried a lot of the ROMs available for the Exhibit and this is the best one by far. No nonsense with everything working great so far. I only use the Exhibit as a wi-fi music player and this ROM will definitely extend it's usefulness. Thank-you for doing this.

All roms were compiled by me but most of the source needed to compile was developed by the people mentioned in the OP. Including but not limited to Arco, ADC Team, Camcory, and other devs you have all seen around here.

Also side note ill be updateing the 10.2 rom again soon to address the camera issue. Was my fault i didnt update my 10.2 device tree before makeing that new build. As long as i havent missed anything the next 10.2 should be ion/pmem and work as advertised.

Thanks! How is 10.2? I've stayed away from 10.2 on older devices in hopes of avoiding any potential eMMC bugs.

It's perfect and even better with supercharger v6 and services jar (part of supercharger). Smooth as a babies bottom.

thanks for the update. also a side note 10.1 notice 3d games dont work. it sits at blank screen til you press home. but its cool 10.2 is good til i get cm11 working. got the sources so i can fix our issue but have to wait as our power went out and can't use my deving pc as it's power hunger and don't want to kill the generator in a few days just in case i need it longer than that.

Yea i did notice that blank screen with some games. doesnt affect them all though so not sure if its game related or rom.

havent fully looked into the difference between kernels but same games that gave blank screen on 10.1 dont on 10.2. its rom/kernel related. on aoip and aokp they worked as well. like i said thou not a biggie since you updated 10.2 to ion/pmem.

@cars1189, how is your CM11 build related to the one jfbs released? Is that one still active as far as you know?

Sent from Samsung Exhibit II using XDA Premium app. Peace!

They are basicly identical. Only differences are when we sync with cm sources and he removes some unneeded CM stock apps. He removes ~5 apps maybe. The only one i remove is CMUpdater. 1 because it doesnt work for us anyways and 2 it used(and still might) to FC repeatedly so thats not cool. Other than that pretty much the same. And im sure hell be releaseing and doing more work. I just added mine in the mix just because im makeing them for myself anyways and its a way to push more test builds to help him and me work out glitches. (imo, which in part relies on you guys to test builds so we know what to fix)

Edit: apparently its better than mine he has gotten the camcorder to work! Yay! Definatly go check out his build. Hit up that thanks button for him and the others that have helped.

Judging by your github local manifests, I would guess that yours also doesn't have the vold or settings patches for swapping internal and external SD cards. On the plus side, at least your manifests are up there !

I had one FC on first boot after installing the CM11 1/11 build using jfbs CWM 6.0.4.5, but I just clicked off it and I forgot what it was. It was when the CM getting started prompts came up. I'm having the same issues with Netflix playback as @jfbs CM11 builds. More info on that here http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=49346914&postcount=344

That explains why the build.prop swap setting has no effect.

just waned to let you know I love your 10.1 rom haven't test your 10.2.. just tried you cm11 after builds of jfbs cm11 stopped working for me.. it booted up in the first try, no errors, nothing.. simply perfect. its only been a few minutes so i'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I know its all good.. thanks man!:good:

edit: I did notice one thing different about the flashing process though, when flashing I noticed the gapps you gave said 4.4.1 gapps on my exhibit 4g screen as where the links jfbs gave where for 4.4.2 gapps right? so I checked your android build number and it is 4.4.2 so maybe its been the gapps that has been given so many people problems. I bet if I flash your gapps with jfbs's rom it'll work..?

I'd like to share my experiences with two of the ROMs featured in this thread:

CM10.1 is the best ROM I've used with my phone. It seems totally stable and I haven't run across anything that is broken. I am very grateful to have this ROM.

Two of the things I appreciate about 10.1 -- which seem to have been dropped in 10.2 and above -- are the ability to turn off the CRT animation, and the shutdown buzz that occurs when you power off.

CM11 gave me a host of problems. I did not have the smooth experience the previous poster spoke of. I used TWRP. The installation seemed to proceed correctly. However, when I booted I got a bunch of "... unexpectedly closed", or "... stopped" messages. I rebooted a few times and made a small bit of progress, but clearly something wasn't cooperating.

I think there's something in the CM11 software stack (possibly introduced late December or early January) that doesn't like early versions of the Exhibit hardware. I am unqualified to substantiate any such claim so take my comment with a huge grain of salt. (Yes, one huge grain of salt -- at least a centimeter in size. You can get them at the health food store.)

I'm also going to try jfbs's CM11, but I don't really expect it to work.

Sent from Grouper Nexus 7 using XDA Premium app. Peace!

    Hello, i decided to make a thread for a ton of CM mostly stock builds. Im going to be updateing these builds every so often. Except maybe 10.1 as development as far as the Cyanogenmod team goes has come to a very slow pace.(As its close to its final stages)

    Credits for the ability to have these roms goes to Arco, ADC Team. Camcory. And all the other devs for our device and others. And of course the Cyanogenmod Team and the entire community.

    All standards apply...if you phone blows up not my fault. If your cat eats your phone because the cyanogenmod boot animation looks tasty not my fault. Flash these like any other rom... my cwm from other thread will work fine.

    Also response to this thread will be limited as its just a pile of roms. Not gonna try and go through dev talk about a billion roms all in the same place. feel free to talk about the roms all you want and ill try my best. If i miss anything feel free to PM me and ill try to address whatever the situation may be.

    Also these are not ment to be replacements to anyone elses rom but instead just updated builds. And/or builds i use or have used personally. Kernel source 1 Kernel source 2 Kernel source 3

    Kernel Information:
    All K^Kernels have overclocking the one labeled OC has just that no change to cpu voltage or memory. (Other misc tweaks still apply)
    OC = Overclock
    UV = Under Volt
    EXUV = Extra Under Volt
    Memory levels(aka settings>about phone>Memory):
    high 380 MB of free RAM
    very high 390 MB of free RAM
    extra high 406 MB of free RAM
    standard/default/small w.e. 370 MB of free RAM

    New Builds:

    high 406 MB of free RAM
    very high 416 MB of free RAM
    extra high gone
    standard/default/small w.e. 396 MB of free RAM

    Notes for OS2SD:
    Before you start: I cannot stress enough cwm backups/restoring will not work with this OS2SD release! And data MUST be formated NOT Optional!
    1. You MUST Backup All data or it WILL be lost!
    2. You MUST Format /system, /data, /cache, and /sdcard0 in cwm/twrp.
    At this point you can format sdcard0 as ext4.
    3. Install the new CWM/TWRP the old one will not work from now on!
    If you didnt before now would also be a good time to format the internal storage which in the new recovery is now /data to ext4.
    4. Once formated first flash the OS2SD rom
    5. Then flash GAPPS and/or other packages.
    At this point you can restore data. Note the kernel is special so you cant use older ones so you can only restore things like /data backups and adb/titanium backups.
    6. Then reboot and enjoy the extra space!

    Kernels

    Hey guys. I went the extra mile today and when i compiled the kernels i also compiled extra builds with different configs so we can enjoy K^Kernel in its true full glory. And ill try to do this from now on. ( @Christopher83 ) Enjoy!

    Note: Im only linking the standard builds in the CM11.0 section, to keep it clean, but you guys are smart people if you look youll find the other builds on my androidfilehost

    Also I can not stress enough with the undervolt builds there is a higher risk involved please be careful.

    Edit: also with the other kernels i just noticed they haven't added the TRIM commit for us yet but i asked Christopher to add it so im sure itll be in there soon.

    Also one thing ive noticed is that even 480p works for the xhm(extra high memory) build which gives the user space 406MB vs the ~350MB we have with stock.

    Also since i know some people might be wondering:
    Both for cpu
    uv=undervolt
    exuv=extra undervolt

    Memory is as follow:
    hm=high mem 380 MB of free RAM
    vh=ver hgih mem 390 MB of free RAM
    exvh=extra high mem 406 MB of free RAM
    the build that is labled just OC is 370 MB of free RAM

    More info can be found in Christopher83's K^Kernel thread here.
    Also while camera works im not 100% sure about things like youtube and netflix with the higher mem builds.
