so i take it we can use TWRP correct lol? i haven't been here for a very long time. i'm still currently on LJC Stock w/Root. and plan on to update to TWRP 2.5.0.0 and then do a fresh install of this but the install instructions seem not correct. it says to
- Flash CM10.1 zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)

Shouldn't i do the Factory reset first before flashing CM10 and GApps?

What I recomend:

Flash latest TWRP.
Factory Reset data (in latest TWRP, just do the slide under wipe menu).
Flash CM 10.1.
Flash Gapps.

Are you running on Stock Kernel, and or tried other kernels?

What I recomend:

Flash latest TWRP.
Factory Reset data (in latest TWRP, just do the slide under wipe menu).
Flash CM 10.1.
Flash Gapps.

Ok thanks going for it now, btw i didnt pay attention but does this support apps2sd or do i have to use the script

EDIT: tried and did it your way stuck at cyanogenmod bootani, then tried it the other way as the OP says but still stuck at Bootani? What gives?

Also does this rom have photosphere? I don't see it in the camera app.

---------- Post added at 12:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:03 PM ----------

UPDATE - I do notice that my signal strength is much weaker now. I'm looking at my strength vs a stock one right now and.

Stock rom: -74dBm 4asu
CM 10.1: - -89dBm 4asu

Any ideas why it would show so much lower signal?

Yeah man I think that's what's killing my battery.

Secret might be in "keep awake" time.
Android OS reported that the keep awake was over 15 hours last night and my phones battery lasted 18.
Maybe its polling for data too much or constantly searching for signal.

Any progress in finding the problem?

Battery stats last night:
Android OS: 53% keep awake 15 hours, CPU time 9min.
Screen: 18% on for 50min at full bright.
Lasted for 18 hours
Usage: minor throughout the day, was asleep for the last 6 hours the phone was on. Didn't even last the night from 33%.

Going to test out Matrix Kernel and see if I see a major change in life.
This should tell us weather its an OS or Kernel problem. I am thinking OS, but you never know, besides Matrix has way more versatility then the CM Kernel anyway.

I'm going to pass and go back stock rooted. I'll stick to what works for now until CM 10.1 gets more stable. I''m in the military and I need my phone.

Cm is honestly pretty stable for the note. I'm sure you just have a bad download or maybe downloaded for the wrong device. I've been a flashaholic for quite some time now and been on cm/carbon since the day I brought my note home. Battery life is about the last bug there is! I still get wayyyyy better battery life than I had on my toro+ even with it not being perfect

No bad download or wrong device. I have been flashing roms for years. This is a issue on every board I go to.

If you say so man. But I haven't seen this issue and I believe you are the first person in a long time to have this issue. Personally I flash cm or carbon every couple days and never have a problem booting. I can see you took offense to what I said and I'm sorry for that. Was in no way trying to step on anyone's toes. Just pointing out that you have an issue that not any other people have so its clearly user error. I'm just trying to help you get booted up. It sounds that maybe you should stay on touchwiz though. Some aren't ment for the wonderful world of AOSP

I noticed 3g data drops out quite a bit... Is this a known issue?

Updated to 4/28 last night and installed matrix kernel.
Getting the same battery issue so it must be ROM side. Not kernel related.

Also like the poster above, my signal seems a bit unstable. Although I have been at school most of today. Signal is generally unreliable there.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Thank you sbrissen for developing for this awesome device and all of our donators who made it possible! None of this would have happened without you guys :)

You will lose S Pen and other Touchwiz functionality if you flash this but here is how you can get some of that functionality back!
    1. S Pen works (try out the app Papyrus as a replacement to S Note, Papyrus does utilize the S Pen button as well).
    2. Air View works (Go to settings, Language & input, check "Show icon when using stylus".
    3. The S Pen button works (Go to settings, Language & input, Stylus gestures, those all use the s pen button).
    4. Pop up browser = OverSkreen from the Google Play Store.
    5. I use the 4.2 Camera on Touchwiz anyway. There are plenty of good camera apps in the market if you want more features.
    6. Multiwindow. There is no alternative, dont ask.
And here's some alternatives to Touchwiz apps (PM me if you want me to add something!)
    Code:

[URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clov4r.android.nil&hl=en"]MoboPlayer[/URL]- It's another very capable, free video player with floating player functionality. Plus its free!

If you want to downgrade back to a 4.1.x ROM, flash the restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip attached below AFTER flashing back to 4.1.x ROM. Your storage situation will be how it was pre-CM10.1 flash. Thanks to madmack for the file.

Screenshot thing is a known issue.

Also, guys I'm glad your all crazy about the CM10.2 thing but this is still the 10.1 thread. So can we please keep it on topic?

I'll start a cm10.2 thread shortly with builds. the screenshot issue is because of the "legacy" mali gpu blobs. until we get blobs that work properly with 4.3 there will be graphic issues
