Will try to screenshot it next time it happens but usually on mobile a banner ad blocks off most of the page numbers at the top. Quite annoying.

For days now have been getting redirects to a "bad oink" porn site when visiting XDA. Not happy. And as I researched this issue, I noticed it's not a new problem for this site with such issues going back as least a couple of years. This site and it's advertising partners need to address this issue a lot better. It shouldn't keep happening over and over again. Not good. Especially embarassing for a techie developer site. Are the porn companies better developers? I certainly would hope not!

I am getting badoink mobile porn redirect loops and I am not happy. It popped up when I was at church and I am lucky no one saw it.

Still getting porn ads...

So, it's been almost a month since the first post about someone getting porn ads on their phone. Tonight, I had the same issue - getting redirected to badoink. c o m. Now, I can't browse the site on my phone. (Luckily I was alone at the time this happened.)

This issue is extremely disturbing, even more so because there has been NO progress and/or NO update in nearly a month. If I can't trust a dev website to take care of what should be an emergency issue considering its audience, I'll have no choice but to take my ad-views, click-throughs and other support elsewhere and warn as many people as I can to do the same to avoid being served trash.

I'm not really bothered by the ads so i dont need an ad blocker but this 'IE rollover to view' ad is being a pain in the rear.
Pls get rid of it.
Thanks.

It's seems the site owners don't care. That's why the complaints are ignored and why I don't come here as much as I used to. The annoying roll over, video and full screen pop up ads were bad enough, but the porn was the last straw. I understand ads keep this site going but you need to get it through your heads that your refusal to deal with the situation is driving people away. Get your act together and find an ad network that doesn't push scam and porn ads, and for the love of God stop pushing ads that play music or video automatically! Trust me, your users will reward you with more visits and page views.:good:

if we share our work, it forbidden to use ad* ly?

Correct you can NOT use any type of pay-per-click sites because it violates our rules.

13. Advertising and Income Generation

Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay per click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use xda-developers as a means to make money.

This thread is for Intrusive ads that may be found on/around XDA....Not for Intrusive Members, please address your legitimate issues. Thank You.

XDA ads have been spammy, pornographic and constantly locking up my browser. Without adblock, this site is very difficult to use. XDA has admitted knowledge of this issue but has since gone silent.

Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app

Hey guys--

I can say that we monitor this thread regularly, but most of the "bad" ads actually come through AdSense, and we don't have direct control. We do report each one, and they should eventually get taken care of. If we could do it faster we would. We clearly don't knowingly work with any partner who displays pornographic ads or auto-sound/video ads.

Very sorry about these annoyances!

Thx!

To be honest, I use the XDA 2010 theme on this site anyway, which seems less prone to this sort of rubbish for some reason. Also much clearer and less cluttered for reading message threads. I tried the 2013/etc versions and hated the look and quickly went back.

Anyone else been getting a fullscreen "You should update Java" ad?

Visiting xda results in a redirect to a domain called javaupdatecaa dot com - complete with the aforementioned fullscreen "update Java" message.

Note: I don't have java installed, and this only appears on xda.

We can accept all types of excuses for Advts on XDA. No issues. But Ugly images like this are not welcomed. Sometimes family members are around and we feel embarrassed if such things show up on screen.

After this complaint in other sub-forum, some friends suggested me ADBLOCK addon for firefox. Now I am not seeing even good advertisements.

XDA moderators. Now think over it. Such advertisements will result in complete boycott of XDA advts. Then whats the use of showing them?

Hope you get some lesson from this.

The internet is full of advertisments and let's face it, almost every site that has an ounce of traffic uses ad revenue. The intention of xda is not to burden its members with ads that distract from the user experience. With that being said, if you have a problematic ad, please take a screenshot of the ad and post here so admin can take care of it. right now, that is the solution in place.

Thanks for your help in keeping XDA "intrusive ad free".

+1 Im annoyed with these redirected fake sites and sites that auto start downloading mobogenie apk

Its Going To Be LEGEND--Wait For it--DARY!-Barney Stinson(How I Met Your Mother)

+2 Avast is now blocking the entire xda site whenever these adds pop up.

Is this forum a ship with no captain, this has been going on for nearly a week, do the owners not care at all?

    time to do something

So tonight I drop by and am confronted with an ad that obscures a large portion of the bottom screen. It is inescapable and makes the site unreadable so I click it in the hope that it goes away after the obligatory popup... no such luck. It remains on the page. I go to scroll the page and trigger another ad on the right hand side. Christ almighty, can xda please accept some responsibility for the general usability of the site? Right now it's not happening and the site is borderline stupid to use. Ive been around a long time here and have heard every argument about ads and their role in modern development... I get it, I support it and want every dev to wildly succeed. This isn't about that. This is about xda making a decision to commit to usability and striking a better balance between content and advertising than what we have today because its not working as it stands. Thanks for the rant

For last couple of weeks, I've been experiencing an EXTREMELY ANNOYING pop-up ads problem on XDA Forums. It's so frustrating I cannot browse this forum from my phone anymore. And it's definately not about my device/software. I tried every possible software solution but still no luck and I have this problem on more than one device. All these spam/ads are coming from the same website: itt-edu.us and they these ads claim that I have virus on my device, my device is slow or outdated etc and they redirect me to some software called 360 Security on Play Store. These ads keeps poping up unless I close the tab in browser. Here are some screenshots from these ads I've been talking about, they are all in Turkish(my native language): http://imgur.com/a/Yam1D
Here is a thread about the issue from another user: http://xdaforums.com/galaxy-s6/help/question-spam-t3278835
And here is a thread from a local forum, these people also claim that issue is about XDA itself not our devices: http://forum.donanimhaber.com/m_112937991/tm.htm
