I'm getting this *see image* error when I select Android during startup on my Dell XPS 12, Windows 8. I am trying to install Android x86 4.4.2.

Any idea on what is wrong? I can't install Android x86 using the regular boot CD/USB method either.

Does the partition we make for this have to be a certain format? NTFS or FAT32?

I think you have a Windows 8 laptop which use UEFI and SecureBoot
till now these devices are not supported

if you want to change Boot options permanently, open c:\menu.lst and make whatever changes you want

The installer automatically detect the available graphics card configuration and set the required parameters.
if you want any other advanced options please post them

The partition is just a file on the disk, it is not a real dedicated partition.
The Installer automatically create a file called data.img and format it as ext4 (linux file system)

Thank you All

Ok, so i've heard about Intel IA (https://01.org/android-ia/downloads/android-4.4.2r1-ia2), does this need an Intel Processor to run? I'm using AMD.

Could not find grldr.mbr
I have old HP Compaq nc9005 and I'm trying to install Androidx86 on it. First I tried indtalling withi iso on second partition, parallel with XP but I stuck on detecting android-x86 found at /dev/sda2.
So I found this Easy Installer but it gives me error too.

Laptop spec.
AMD Athlon XP2800+
2.12 GHz, 960 MB of RAM
Radeon IGP 320M
Windows XP Professional SP3

if you have Windows 8 + "UEFI" ... it won't work at all (UEFI is not supported)
