You have to follow steps 2 - 4. HTC emails it to you...

do we have to do steps 1-5 (unlock bootloader)? or can we just do it this way if we want root/custom recovery and be able to flash roms...
1. Download file to your computer
2. In command line, navigate to the folder you have the recovery
3. Reboot phone into fastboot
4. "fastboot flash recovery recovery-cwm-ruby-5.5.0.4.img"
5. "fastboot reboot"
6. Reboot Phone into recovery as normal

http://androtransfer.com/xboarder56/...by-5.5.0.4.img

7. put super user on sd card then flash

(if Im on if on tmobile amaze 4g s-on and on footballs latest ics leak..)

ICS to GB

I am trying to roll back to GB from ICS on my Tmobile Amaze. I was successful with the toolkit all the way up to Perm Root and Mainver Error Fix. When I run Mainver Error Fix it says it must be run as root. I was thinking I had succeded in the Perm Root step. It installed Superuser.apk without issues. Am I missing a step?

Hey guys, I think I'm trying to hard, because this is supposed to be way easier than rooting my mytouch 4G. Everything is good until after installing the CWM, after that I try to perm root, the CMD window opens, I wait for the phone to get to "CWM Recovery" hit enter on the CMD window, it does everything with no problem. So when I press any key to continue, CMD just stays there, and my phone stays in recovery. So after waiting for a couple of minutes for anything to happen, I go trough the recovery menu, and choose reboot. Phone restarts fine, and when I go into superuser, it tells me it needs to update, so I hit ok, and it tells me there was an error, and is leaving the superuse .zip file on my SDcard (which I don't have) to boot into recovery and install it from there, but when booting into recovery I can't isntall any .zips because there is no SD card to mount. Please help.

NVM, followed binarys guide.

I would like to add for those that like my toolkit, PLEASE DO NOT POST IT ELSEWHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

I have seen multiple sites who copy and paste my work to their site! If I do not approve of it, then do not do it! it will discourage me from adding updates since it is being used for their own benefits!

tl;dr.

If you post my work without permission, don't expect updates!

Unfortunately, that is the internet... lol
Don't expect to not find your stuff re-blogged and errors in their posts. There are tons of blogs that "copied" my root methods for the Hero and EVO and my other programs/threads, and they contain errors that I didn't write as well. All you can do is keep going with internal motivation. That's what keeps me going at least! Once it turns into a competition for recognition/money (not saying that you are trying to with your post, just in general) here on XDA, the dynamics of the whole site start to change.

That said, you did choose to write this using the .NET framework and I know people will decompile it and use your ideas in their own projects unfortunately. That's just the way it is out there. I just publish my source on Github and let the world learn from it. This would be much different if you were charging for your toolkit obviously.

Not necessarily. Once I put that post up, not even 2 mins later I received a PM asking for permission.

Also, I did not use .Net Framework to write it up so yay on my part lol.

I don't do this for recognition or money, I do it to make lives easier. I use my tool (Amaze 4G) on a regular basis because of its simplicity. I thought it would be nice to help others out as well in making tools simple for them to use so they can learn easier without messing up their phones and decrease the amount of questions that are asked.

Probably not gonna open source it unless I decide to stop doing this completely. I learned by myself and if people are motivated, they will be able to do the same. It doesn't mean I won't help if they ask, but I spent my time learning and asking for it.

Ah lol I must have had your project mixed up with another.. Obviously it's not written on the .NET framework. But don't be surprised if you still find other people posting your stuff. There definitely are great people out there that will ask for permission, but you know there are always ones that wont.

I agree with you. Some people are jackasses. I hope people don't ruin it for the rest!

If you flashed it once, let the phone load up and press the button again.

Sent From My HTC Amaze 4G via Someone's Room ;)

Having a little problem trying to flash kernels on the unofficial official ics update from tmobile. Wanted to put root, everything worked in the sense of unlocking, but once I messed around with the kernel I can't get passed the HTC screen.

Flashed kernel twice liked you posted, still nothing.

The kernels are ONLY for Gingerbread. There are no ICS kernels available (besides stock but the stock ICS kernel is not in my toolkit).

Gingerbread to ICS

First off, awesome program. Nice job. I have a question that I wasn't able to find the answer to. If I run your program, (remove bloatware, new kernal, etc) but no perm root, will I still get the ICS from Tmobile when they finally release it?
Will these changes cause me not to receive updates OTA?

Thanks again.

Error on step 3

I am getting an error when I try and get my token. This is what I am getting.

'C:\Documents' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I am running the latest version of the tool, XP, with phone plugged in to USB. I did steps 1 and 2. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

I created an easy to use GUI program for the Amaze. I spent a good over 10+ hours to learn how to script, watch videos on how to do it, working on it during school when I should have been listening lol and all that fun stuff. The GUI interface looks like crap right now GUI is improved starting from v2.0 but I just wanted to share it. I am going to fix it and up and add more updates to it. You CAN place requests and I will try to fulfill it!

If this helped you out, Please press the thanks button and if you want, you can always donate!

    FAQs

Q - Why Did you make this?
A - To make life easier

Q - You are limited on features. Why?
A- You can always make a request!

Q - Will this work on other devices?
A - Only the fastboot commands, HTC Dev unlock (device specific) and the HTC drivers. Toolkit is made for the specific device.

Q - Will you support more devices in the future?
A - If people REALLY want, I can make it happen. I just don't want to make anything that nobody would use.

    Q - Awesome! Can I make a donation?
A - Of course! Do not feel obligated though. If you would like to make a donation, you can click the button on my toolkit or under my username.
