If I don't follow the steps above I get errors with sd card (apps crashing).
If you still have issues try install/first boot with no memory card if thats possible with this rom. To rule out the sd card.

Thanx for the reply.. Followed ur steps one by one but still getting "1234Fatal Hit 4". I'am pretty sure that i'am missing something here, but could it be...
Have had wm7 on this HD2 before....

Hope for some more advice ? Is it just me getting this error ??

so camera trick, also depends on the

HD2 model
HD2 radio
2G/3G modes

generally, i should just flash this ROM, install Battery Tool, and then do the camera trick and see how it goes?

HD2 model = Asia
HD2 radio = 2.15.50
2/3G = I remember reading flipping the 3G switch gets more battery than 2G, even with DATA OFF

this still valid? sorry , i have been away from WP7 for 6 months, and its time my secondary HD2 gets an upgrade from WM6.5 to WP7.5

on another note, i technically DO NOT NEED AN SD CARD, right ?

i mean, just use the ROM without SD card (yes i will have minimal space) and stuff, but at least i wont run into SDcard locks or problems with sd card encryption and unusable sd card later

EDIT2:

ok my bad, looks like i only have 24MB free storage after flash

anyways, windows phone 7 says my storage card is not working
its a 2GB SANDISK, i wonder now

I'm back with some more details:

bluetooth stay conected (even with wifi off)

BT stay connected but I got some strange behavior using it with my MW600: after a wile in stand by when somebody called me it does't respond in BT even it was showing connected. Others times it was ok.

Quality of music player is not so great (as long as there is no sound enhancer operational for it) but I can live with it.

Camera: has no Advanced Settings (except Flicker Adjustment). BUT it is the best Camera I ever seen on HD2 with WP7.

Applications already installed:

from marketplace: HTC Hub (and other HTC apps) + other different free apps;

from xap files (with WP SDK7.1 + Tom XAP Installer v1.2): Compass (Compass - v1000.xap from this forum), BatteryTool.

HTC Compas from marketplace doesn't work but it works with this one: Compass - v1000.xap
I installed Navigon and it works ok.
So I have no problems on installing from marketplace or xap files.

Still to be tested battery drainage in correlation with my cards. Now I'm using a 8Gb Kingmax (class 6) - this was draining quite fast on HD2O v1.23v1b.
After, I'll try this rom on another card - 8Gb Kingston (class 4) -with a very good drainage on HD2O v1.23v1b.
I also will see if the BT on has an important impacts on battery drainage.

Obs:
this rom has less ringtones embedded than HD2O (not big problem for me)

I had to change the 8Gb Kingmax (class 6) because it was draining quite fast.
Now I'm testing 8Gb Kingston (class 4).

Another strange behavior: after each reboot in the About menu I had different mac adress (this is already known issue for Wp7 on HD2) BUT I also have different Radio version information: once is written Radio 2.15... others is written Radio 5.51.09.....It alternates after each reboot. Any explanation?

This seems to be a bug with 7740 and HTC devices.

Mr. abogdan, I really thank you for your big help which was PERFECT! I've contacted Microsoft & they've given me activation keys & I've succeeded! However I have some questions:-

1. I don't think there is a simple answer to this question. Beause battery drainage depends to many factors I advise to try these:

aplly camera trick from here
install Battery Tool from here and watch your consume in stand by (with wifi, BT and data turned off). For a normal phone consume shoud be between -3...-8 .
if your consume is higher then you may try to change Radio or even SD card.

2. In my case, for being able to install xap app, I installed first WP SDK 7.1 from here and after I use Tom XAP Installer.exe from here.

for me gps works fine on novigon

ok , my 256MB card worked but only added a little 20MB to the storage space
my 2GB Sandisk completely wasnt recognized by this ROM (never tried before)
my previously recognized 16GB Sandisk on older ROMs, now doesnt work

do I need to do some preparation on the SD card prior before booting up into WP7, like formatting it to FAT32 and Services>Format SD MBR?

Yes....format with FAT 32....them start flash this Rom, without SD out the phone.....will apears hardreset in the end, do that.....then put SD, and will reconize .

A friend of mine do that, with same problem as you....and works.

Excellent ROM!

Only few problems for me:

1) External speaker is too loud (wheeze sound), how to reduce default volume? I understand that i can do it with volume buttons, but after you listening music in earphones, you need manually reduce volume to 9-10 (instead of 20+ for music)

2) On my HD2 I have usual problem - broken hard keys, so how to remap it. Will this method work? (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1114737)
Can I remap it without reflashing whole ROM? Only this part with keys file?

no, man, this one is regular known as camera trick.
And I'm looking for the extended one which works well with mango and any radio, getting you 5-9 ma with everything on.

Confirm weird bt behaviour: it connects/disconnects normally if do this manually and some time after manual connect works automatically well also.
But then doesn't connect automatically till manual connection.

-The changelog tells us "auto-focus camera", does this mean that the battery fix using the camera´s video auto-focus feature is not needed anymore?
-What Radio do you use with this ROM? HD2-HD7 Radio_2_12_50_02_2?
-Can this ROM, like XBmod-Yuki's, be upgraded in the future via Zune?
