No, it`s only for p760. In next version (next week) I`ll add p769 support.

Do you have unlocked bootloader?

If yes,
Yes, you can flash a recovery and then flash your backup to make your phone work.

If no,
You have to unlock your bootloader, but it'll void your warranty. If you want to keep your warranty it's better to send your phone to lg.

With unlocking the bootloader you won't lose your data and apps, but it is better to make a backup.
Root button will simply root your phone, but it isn't tested yet.
You can download update_super su from http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1858683&d=1365108267 and flash it from recovery!

Sorry to go off topic but you don't have to unlock anymore. We now have the signing key used by LG.

That ROM is for unlocked and locked devices.
