Yep...I can confirm...after full wipe...clean rom instal...mx player gives error upon launch: "Unsupported device or component files are corrupted. If the problem persists, please uninstall completely and reinstall the application."

Tired that..no good...

The gallery can play the vids on the sd card fine though.

Back to the SGT7 based rom for me.

Netflix not working here, either.

Not sure if it's me or a side effect of the linaro kernel - but is netflix working for everybody? Videos stop playing immediately after clicking on one - and I'm seeing "channel is unrecoverably broken" errors in the logcat.

I got excited when it loaded the browser because it didn't the last time I had problems. But yeah, videos quit instantly. Whew. I thought it was just me.

mx player is working just fine for me. Both video files on sd card and streaming files work fine under s/w(fast) mode for me.

[Upgrade] How to upgrade version?

I have the last week version 12-06-03 and I want to update it to new 12-06-12 without clean all data and applications installations.

Can be do it avoiding factory reset? something like this:

1. Download .zip file
2. Place on sd-card
3. Reboot in recovery
.... Factory Reset (avoid this step)
4. Wipe Dalvik Cache
5. Flash .zip file
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Click Thanks!

Gasp!!! Where be the volume slider? I can't figure out how to get it back onto my notifications bar

The Volume slider is hardcoded into the notifications bar. You shouldn't be able to remove it :p

EDIT:

A note to everyone. Seeing has the new kernel is compiled using Linaro, I suggest you use it instead of flashing Hashcode's back on top of it. The kernel already features all the latest tweaks for Hashcode's github, but should offer some improvements in speed. :)

Hi,

thx gede for the new release. Awesome work as always.

After updating from 1.55 my volume slider was missing but it reappeared after changing the "notification drawer" settings. I think it was just a problem with the old settings so no problem anymore.

*edit: Battery drain seems a lot higher with the new kernel.

I also made some benchmark tests. (ondemand kernel scheduler)

First Quadrant:

Maybe thats interesting for someone even if the performance improvement is not that big at the moment.

Thanks for gederom v1.55 but v1.6 doesn't work better on my kindle.Version 1.6 makes the homescreens laggy with 1008MHZ and I don't like scrolling down to access the volume slider.Anyway thanks for v1.55.

Cool. I'm seeing slighty better improvements in the benchmarks (multiple runs averaged out), but have the clocking set at 1200 MHz since that's what I usually run it at, and for benchmarking stability, run the Performance governor (I return to OnDemand/OnDemandX afterwards).

Antutu was averaging 5900-6070 before, now 6120-6170.
Quadrant was averaging 2750-2870 before, now 3170-3200.

Subjectively, the ui definitely appears more responsive. It was fine before, but opening previously unopened apps and returning to previously (but recently) accessed apps, happens more quickly now. It's not ZOMG quicker, but it is very noticeable. I'm pretty sure it's a real improvement b/c I honestly wasn't expecting anything to begin with :)

Good work Gede, and thanks again.

Scrolling down to access the volume slider? Why don't you just remove some of the buttons in your notification drawer?

Anyway, it seems that other devices have the same hit/miss issues wih Mxplayer and Netflix. If anyone manages to dig a fix up, please share it :) I'll continue looking around.

Is it OK to flash the latest rev (6/12/12) over the 6/3/12 version? Or should I wipe completely?

Great work on this ROM Gede. I love it!

While you can flash over the previous rom, im seeing way better results after a factory reset, personally. No lag, notification bar opens on first touch.

    - Now running Ondemand governor as default again.

    28-5-2012
    Bugfix patch
    - Fixed graphic glitches introduced in the last build. (This will need testing, but I hope everything is back to normal!)
    - Removed camera from default landscape lockscreen.
    - Added BoostedAss2 governor. (Suggested by aaricchavez)
The new governor should be a more powersaving version of the Smartass2 governor.

(Note that I still recommend Ondemand as your default governor. It currently features the best dualcore control and deepsleeps well.)

    27-5-2012
    Bugfix patch

    - ADB should be fixed once and for all.

Fixed force close when going to Settings->About Tablet->Status.
Changed USB footprint to match that of the stock ROM. This should fix most adb problems. If you still have trouble connecting through adb, see this post: http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/12/13/how-to-install-kindle-fire-adb-usb-driver/
Updated wlan-libraries. This *should* improve general stability of the wifi.
    Removed "adb enabled" notification.
Added a new battery-icon option(Truly fitting the ICS style!)
Can be enabled in settings. The name is ICSCircle.

Ported several new CPU governors to Hashcode's kernel. Default governor is now OndemandX at 1.2GHz - should improve battery life!
    Other governors for testing:
    Smartass V2
    InteractiveX
    For more info, see http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=25619678&postcount=378

New custom circular battery icon! Can be selected by going to settings->system->status bar-> battery status style. Nothing changed about the normal icons.

New build.prop tweaks: Disguises the tablet as a Galaxy Nexus when browsing for apps. This should allow for new games to run on the KF. (Tested on Dungeon Hunter 3 and Asphalt 6 HD)

Users running on FFF1.4 can now reboot into recovery(Thanks Hash!)
    Removed flightmode from powerdown-menu.

    28-4-2012 Version 1.15:

Fixed the size of the bootanimation.
Removed the custom Play Store - was causing too many problems.
Changed default launcher to Apex - Same simple design, but with loads of customization available!
Included LiveWallpapers and Email apps by popular demand, if you are missing any of the other apps that I have removed, download the "removedapps.zip" and install it.
