Kernel: http://goo.im/devs/atyoung/Mason-RC/Mason-G-d15rc4-sbc-fso-supersonic-signed.zip

Wheatley is the governor. I believe it was based on 'ondemand' but dont hold me accountable. It'll make your phone run fast, but is also battery-friendly

SIO is a scheduler, this one is voted he best because it makes your files secure, and allows faster write speed. If you want to change to these settings, I recommend the app 'NoFrills CPU' it is free on the Play Store

I didn't even think to test this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'll look into it.

Update I used HDMwIn and it worked just fine. My HDMI monitor was showing me the exact same thing as my phone. I tried both portrait and landscape. I played a video. It all seemed to work without a hitch. Is there some other method I should be testing?

how did you get it to work?? the first time i tried it, my phone read the cabel but the second time it didnt and just froze my phone and had to reboot. what i did was first startt the app then plug the phone and tv in(tv first then to the phone)..

I plugged in the cable first with my monitor in DVI mode. I started HDMwIn and glanced at the settings. I pressed the enable button, switched the monitor over to HDMI, and it was there. I had actually never tried HDMI on my phone before, so that was kinda cool. I was glad to see it worked so easily. Kudos to Team Win.

My general rule of thumb with these sort of things is that the device that's doing the output (e.g., evo) should be sending output through the cable before turning on (or switching over) the input device (e.g., monitor, tv). Basically, I don't like to have the input device looking at an empty signal. I don't know if there's any technical merit to this but it's always worked for me. I adopted this method after my TV kept going, "Welp, there's no signal here so I'm just gonna switch back to the cable box" whenever I'd try switching over to PS3 before turning on the PS3. lol

The version that he linked is both FSO (File Synchronization Off) and SBC (Smart Battery Control).

If you want another version, you can get them here: http://atyoung.blogspot.com/

That shouldn't really matter. It's CM7-based and uses CM drivers. The changes presented by Lewa are mostly cosmetic, far abstracted from minor hardware differences. The meat and potatoes of porting it is the process of going from GSM to CDMA, but again CM7 offers everything necessary to do that quite easily. If there was some sort of distinction to be made between 004 and 003, then it would be at a much lower abstraction layer, more directly associated with CM7 (not Lewa). But to answer your question, I only tested on 003.

I appreciate your quick and descriptive response. I took a gamble and installed your ROM and I have to say, so far it's kicking all the others asses as far as performance is concerned. Battery life also seems to be pretty good compared to most roms I've installed over the last 2 years since I've has this phone. You got a good thing going here. You have my support.

Let the ROM 'settle' and you'll be blown away.

Loving the rom so far, I have been using it for the last few days..pretty solid. I use Savagedzen 2.2.1 kernel and get awesome battery life.

Two things I noticed are:
1. Call waiting doesn't show who is calling.
2. The messaging app doesn't show the names and pictures of the contacts in the individual thread for each.

Keep up the excellent work.

What I.do is click the themes app, then hit customize. I select the lockscreen option and I downloaded the five rings and ICS 4.0 lockscreens.it'll download and I can apply it, but once the the screens turns off, the phone reboots directly to the bootanimation and loops

Outside of this issue, I like the ROM way over base CM7. It has that new look that MIUI brought to ROM's but still keeps all the features that the phone can accomplish. Great work

See, that's what I did as well when I tested the new version. I only wiped caches (incl. dalvik), and I had no issues at all. But when I did a "super-wipe," I got the boot loop issue like they were describing.

So I rebuilt the ROM from scratch and tested after super-wipe. No issues this time around. So the version in the first post (@everyone, check MD5 to be sure you have most recent one) should resolve boot-loop issues.

I'm still not sure what caused the problem. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

This new build did fix the boot loop for me. But I still get the blank lock screen after a while if I enable the Calendar widget. I have disabled it for now and so far no issue with the lock screen.

After digging into it a bit, it looks like folks with other devices have problems with that particular lockscreen. I'm not sure what causes the issue, but I'll see if there's a way for me to resolve it (maybe it's just some bad math in the animation timings or something?). I'm inclined to chalk it up as a problem that the theme author needs to resolve, however.

    Lewa OS

I will probably update this less frequently, maybe once or twice a month. I no longer use my Evo 4G.

LeWa ("Happy/Funny Frog") comes to us from China and is a MIUI-inspired ROM based on CyanogenMod 7. It's an incredibly lightweight ROM made primarily for yesteryear devices comparable in specifications to our Evo 4Gs. Don't let its sub-100 MB size fool you, though. It's still filled to the brim with features, such as built-in power and battery management, CPU control, and memory clearing. I can confidently recommend LeWa for daily use.

This ROM is stable out of the box. I try to keep my modifications to a minimum and stick to the spirit of the original work.

    Tips

    - Double-tapping the lock icon on the lock screen will bring up music controls.

    - Press volume-down and menu at the same time to take a screenshot.

    - Pressing on the data usage statistics in the notification panel will bring you to a screen where you can slide to the right to change your "Monthly data limit."

    - Pressing the green orb in the notification panel will kill all open apps. Holding it will bring up its whitelist. (You likely want to add your input methods (Swype, Swiftkey, etc) to this.)

    - You may put *.apk files in /sdcard/APK/ to have them automatically install when flashing the ROM.

    - If you're a chatterbox, be sure to turn on SMS splitting in Message Settings.

This is a pretty solid ROM. Its official versions are released for both MDPI and HDPI devices, and most of the devices that LeWa supports are on the weaker side of the hardware specification spectrum. As such, there should not be any lag or resource issues with the Evo 4G. Indeed the vanilla ROM weighs in at ~75 MB and with my additions, it weighs in at ~95 MB.

    Notable Changes

    - Mason-G-d15rc4-sbc-supersonic has been added.

    - QuickPic replaces stock gallery app.

    - MX Player has been added.

    - Mi FileExplorer replaces LeWa's "SD Manager."

    - Jorte Calendar replaces "Calendar 365"

    - A themed version of Swype has been added.

    - Swapper, CStore, Gexin, and other unlocalized apps have been removed.

    - WiMAX has been added.

    - CMParts has been added.

    - Battery Bar has been added.

    - PDroid has been added.

    - MIUI Torch has been added.

    - Modded News & Weather has been added.

    - Modded Play Store has been added.

[!] The ICS lock screen available in the theme manager will ruin your day. Do not download it. There are multiple reports of it causing the phone not to boot.

[-] Localization could use some more work, especially certain poorly translated strings.

    Acknowledgements
If I missed you, send me a PM.

    Swiperat - remove roaming indicator

ajrty33 - auto-connect to data network without having to go to APN settings

LOTK & Team DIRT - I learned quite a bit tinkering with Deck's ReLoaded.

LeWa OS Team - developing the user experience that's built into this ROM

CyanogenMod Team - developing drivers, APIs, frameworks, and resolving many device-specific issues, all of which made porting this a breeze.

AOSP - developing the core components and framework of Android.

    Honorable Mentions

MIUI - provide much of the design inspiration that goes into LeWa OS

MIUI.us, Swiperat, et al. - major kudos to you guys for your work on porting MIUI. I can only imagine how much of a pain in the ass it would be to port one of these ROMs without a CyanogenMod base. You bros deserve special recognition for that.

    Common Concerns and Queries
Please read through these before asking for help.

    - Circaflex offers some guidance to get Visual Voice Mail (VVM) working.

    - s8perman confirms that this ROM works with a2sd.

    - Backlight is activated on incoming message, and there doesn't appear to be a way to disable that functionality.

    - RockoDev Beats Audio can be added by downloading and flashing "ICS & GB BeatsAudio"

This is probably the biggest update so far. The LeWa SystemUI is finally up to my standards in stability (it had issues before, such as choppy animations and erratic behavior when moving the notification bar). I changed the settings around quite a bit to hopefully make them a little more intuitive. I removed a couple problematic settings. I also removed the Gexin service (aka Free Messaging Service, aka Wasage). I replaced LeWa's native SD Manager with Mi FileExplorer.

At the moment, the only difference between the experimental release and the primary release is the base. It might be this way for a while, provided the LeWa developers don't make any drastic changes that necessitate further testing.

Bros, PDroid was so effing hard to add. It took me FOREVER to come up with a "future-proof" way of adding it. I tested it on the last 10 versions of LeWa and it worked on all of them. So I'm assuming it will continue to work from here on out.

To get to it, go to Settings->Application->Privacy & Permissions

It should also alert you to optionally adjust permissions whenever an application is installed.

Also raising the 30 MB/month limit in the Data Monitor to 2 GB by default was a huge PITA for me (probably would be a breeze to experienced Java programmers) but it should be "future-proof" as well.
