Man I really want to use ICS. Someone find a way to get the torch working so I can use my camcorder in low light :(

Camera flash works of course but to keep the light on with the camcorder does not :(

Lets you have multiple widgets swipable in the nav bar. So weather, music, etc.

Omg. That is awesome. I would use that feature everyday. I may have to switch to aokp now and hopefully work out these hot reboot issues I'm having

Steve,

Saw s-voice on your site...

Is that going to be in the next build?

Your FB contacts aren't syncing because that's not a feature Google wants you to have in ICS. They're trying to break into the social networking business so you're only able to sync with Google+ but not Facebook. If you want to sync with Facebook you need to use an app like HaxSync (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync&hl=en)

Um...I have the FaceBook app installed...and its syncs my friends info to my contacts, i don't use the calendar feature of Facebook, so cant comment on that. Skype and Google+ do the same. I actually had to remove Google plus due to it adding all the contacts in from a circle that has 300+ people in it...

I'm not worried about my contacts syncing as much as Facebook crashes every time I try to post a status update or write on someone's wall... Did it with Gummy too... not sure what the hang up is, but oh well. And sagedieu, that's an unfair tease!

Mine does the exact same thing. I've uninstalled and wiped data numerous times, but every time I try to post/check-in/comment/whatever, it crashes. I guess I'm just using it to read status updates these days. Lame. Kind of defeats the purpose, eh?

OK; so last night I tweaked my NST, enabled deep sleep, went from smoothass to lagfree and then a few hours later my phone rebooted itself into TWRP and now it won't restart, just stuck in a recovery boot. I tried flashing the NSTools fix zip, reflashing 37/gapps, reflashed CWM cm7 then the ROM, but nothing is breaking the loop. Also, even powered off, when I plug in the charger, it automatically boots into TWRP. What in the world happened here?

He said S-voice causes problems when it's built into the ROM, that's why it's a separate flash.

this, those two zips on the root of Steve's folder are s voice and twrp, neither of which work right when packaged with the rom. they both work great if you download and flash separately.

Flashing the rom again from recovery without the option re-inject TWR should result in the roms stock recovery being flashed..Clockwork...if that isn't working...

U try starting fresh.....getting into Download mode and do an ODIN to stock, with the .pit file etc...that usually fixes these issues..

I was able to get to stock recovery, but it still wouldn't let me out of recovery loop. I really wanted to avoid an Odin to Stock. The whole "restore" process is a PITA.

Even selecting "reboot to System" option in recovery results in it rebooting to recovery...that's odd...

Sounds like to me that something messed up the phones file system..it can't seem to find a a valid boot partion to boot to perhaps...only a ODIN with the .pit file..the whole revert to stock, then flash to custom rom goodnss...seems the only option to me..

There may be something u can do via adb...set bootmode or something...I am not very familiar with adb on the fascinate, never needed to use it...only used adb stuff on my Kindle Fire...

Maybe someone else has some ideas to fix a recovery loop...

Yeah, I've never used adb, so that is totally foreign to me. I guess I'll Odin and reflash. Mmmm, nice clean unicorn!

I've learned the hard way to keep a recovery folder on my Phone.

cwm fixed for cm7
THS Build 2
Latest Glitched AOKP Build
GAPPS

And to do a regular Nandroid backup (besides the normal Ti auto backups)

Flash (ODIN) CMW FFcm7
Three finger into CMW FFcm7 (wipe Data)
Flash THS
boot (wipe Data)
Flash AOKP
Boot
Recovery
Nandroid restore

I might of missed something in that list. But IIRC it should get you back up and running close to what you were before a crash.

speedingcheetah, please do not take offense but he would have been better off if you hadnt posted since you are mainly just speculating and don't have real experience on this.

in the future, keep a cm7 build and teamhacksung build 2 on your SD card at all times. if you ever accidentally get a boot loop, just flash cm7 (without injecting twrp) and let it boot, then flash ths build 2 and let it boot, then flash back to whatever aokp build you want. it works every time. you should not have to data wipe;if you get force closes and data wipes after this then do a data wipe and it will work fine.

I do a ton of testing and play with unstable things, I deal with recovery loops a few times a week and almost never have access to a computer, so this is a quick and easy way to fix things on the go.

I also recommend setting up titanium backup to automatically backup "all new apps and newer versions" and "all system data" every day or two, it really has no downside and you can set it to run while you're asleep. that way if you do need to do a data wipe, you can restore all your user apps with their data and then selectively restore things like contacts, messaging, phone, rom control, etc for system apps so you can get everything back to how it was pretty quickly and without having to manually do all your settings again.

I personally also use SMS Backup+ from the market, it uploads all my SMS and call logs to my Gmail. that way I can have my SMS delete messages automatically at 200 per thread to keep the app from slowing down, and everything is backlogged through Gmail and can be searched through or restored if I need to find something.

tl;dr schedule titanium backup and SMS backup, and just read the first part for an explanation on how to recovery from bootloops if you don't have a computer nearby.

No offense taken.....but my my understanding was that no matter what he flashed, he still was in a recovery loop....and the first step in the sticky to un-brick is use ODIN...I have only been stuck a few times and needed to ODIN to fix them...

Well...whatever, it was just my suggestion...(which comes from a guy that re-installs his Windows OS install every few months..lol) I did mention that perhaps someone else has some advice.

Perhaps it would be beneficial to post that information in a separate thread tiled "recovery loop" (if it inst' already posted somewhere, I haven't looked very heavily)......may help if this happens to someone else...

Anyway, Thanks for posting.... your experience and knowledge is always welcome...and I am always interested in learning new things or learning how not to do things..:p

Do to the total disregard for the flashing instructions and some individuals trying to find answers without attempting to find it themselves first. I have come up with a list of things I except to see before I will even acknowledge a question from here on out.

If you have a Question try these first.

    1) You must me on the most recent Devil up build. Questions about AOKP Official builds or older Glitched builds should be referred to the most recent Devil up build first. Verify you are on the right ROM having people complain about having a mesmerize on the Verizon network or not getting data/mms because they flashed a Fascinate ROM is ridiculous. If you don't even know what device your on you shouldn't be flashing custom ROMs.

    2) You should try a redownload of the ROM and Gapps, a wipe of data, dalvik, and cache, a flash and a test of the problem before restoring apps or data. That includes the back this phone up option in the gaps installer. Don't check it that until you test your issue.

    3) If you problem is with a single app delete it and redownload it from Google play.

    4) Read the OP and the last 10 pages of the thread completely, if your answer is there your question will be ignored. It will take you just as long to read those pages as it will for me to find it and copy it or re type it.

    5) Believe me when I say I take a lot of pride in this ROM. We use this ROM everyday. We test every feature before it's released. If you say you are having an issue and we tell you it's not the ROM…. It's you if you try and argue that your posts will be ignored.

More be added if stupidity incurs. Have a nice day.

    Love,
    Steve. :)

Thanks goes out to JT, Sbrissen, Romann, Sixstring, TKGlitch, Efpophis and more may be added.

Compass for ICS apps like Gmapps
    BigRam Glitch Kernel

and more stuff ill add when I remember.

    Build 33
    1) Nav Bug fixed
    2) Init.d fixed for real this time.
    3) Autobrightness Phase 2
    4) Adb over network
    5) Boot audio added

    Build 34
    1) Efpophis fixed notification sounds and ringer sounds, also fixes the boot_audio drop off.
    2) Jpeg-turbo - instead of explaining it just go mess around in your gallery or contacts or anything with jpeg processing. Try and bog it down… I DARE YOU!
    3) Some stability improvements for video and camcorder.
    4) Decreased min auto brightness, and increased the max. I haven't messed with the light sensor poll so if you want it to change faster set the sample interval in custom brightness settings.
    5) Added BLN back to its old Glitchy glory for blinking notifications and all that jazz. Good spot Efpophis.
    6) New settings for Davlik heap size.

    Milestone 5

    2) Updated to 4.0.4 r1.2

    Build 35
    1) Theme Engine
    2) Hybrid UI -> if you want to use Hybrid UI Please Readme

For some reason build 35 doesn't like some apps on the SDcard if you are getting Acore FCs logcat the next force close and move the app responsible to the phone memory.

    Build 35.1
    DROPPED HYBRID FOR NOW
Fixed themes and the acore force closes due to apps on the SDcard.

    Build 36-38
Now builds SW kernel fresh in every build
No more wifi scan internal, now wifi scans in background
    Sbrissen fix for split SMS
    maybe more can't remember

    Build 39
Official support for Mesmerize and Showcase.

    Build 40
    Switch to the Devil kernel
    Using Linaro 4.7.1 toolchain

    Milestone 6
Init.d appears to still be broken if you want/need it push this to /init.d

Official build has Glitch and the regular toolchain, Devil has Devil (.99) and the linaro toolchain. Both kernels are interchangable so find which rom/kernel combo works for you and sit tight while we wait/work on Jelly Bean.
    36
We had a meeting last night. Ok so here is the plan. Milestone6 will be aokp's last ics build. We start on jelly bean after the source drops. Milestone6 will come with 2 options the official non linaro build for those with issues, and I will put out a linaro build for those who want it. I will include the latest devil kernel, and from here until jelly bean look too the devil for kernel updates. He had assured me he will be making devil kernels for jb. No etas, we are waiting for the source drop.

    sent from my devil unicorn
    33
Linaro milestone 6 is in the oven it wont be out until tomorrow morning so I can test it. it will come with devil 99 unless there is an issue. As you guys know this is our last ics build so I gave you all the options you could ask for as far as linaro/glitch/devil combinations find the one that works for you and sit tight for JB.
    25
For those of you who aren't on Twitter... (ask yourself why) JT has got the fascinate up and running on CM10 (everything but GPS) he should be posting a build shortly (next few days...) He's also dropping his source (why I love him and also why everything I do is 100% open) so you guys should be getting so CM10 and AOKP love on Jelly bean very shortly. Congrats on staying alive through another update fassy owners...
    23
OP updated with new/last ICS builds. See you guys on the other side.
