I installed the Nordic version on JB firmware on my note and to my surprise it was able to register to samsung update and also gave me the message no more updates, that means this is the same rom which will be in India and rest of Asian....

I don't think the 8010 will have an IMEI, as they're assigned to the GSM radio, but the Galaxy S/S2 CSC Select Tool works on my N8000, so you may be able to use that.

BTW, I assume a wipe is recommended when flashing from ICS to JB?

Yes an IMEI number is for a mobile device and a wifi device will not have it. you device will be recognized my the mac address i think

I'm happy the Wifi model does not have an IMEI nor a Phone App, which in turn also rules out using Samsung code *#272 to obtain your CSC.
Other than Kies, is there any other easy and straightforward way in obtaining your CSC?

So it seems Samsung has found a way to conceal the firmware for Wifi version as none have been able to get hold of it

Checked my CSC on Kies & it says XAC. Is that a new one for Canada or something?

Samir, you have a lot of custom firmware based on the stock version that works perfect, and with the premium suite!!!!

Here is the reason why Samfirmware has not been able to release the new JB firmware for 8010 its because the same is not available on kies and hence they are not able to upload it

So 4.1.2 is a minor upgrade and not a major the official change log list the following changes

Lock/home screen rotation support for the Nexus 7
One-finger gestures to expand/collapse notifications
Bug fixes and performance enhancements

So my suggestion would be if you are on 4.1.1 wait till 4.1.2 is officially release in your region

Is your csc not in the build code number, settings/about device/build number....

CM 10.1 Nightly based on Android 4.1.2

This is a nightly not a stable release so please expect some issues with it.

To install it

Root & CWM is required
Copy the Zip File to external SD Card
Boot in CWM
Do a complete Nandroid backup
Do a complete wipe
Install the zip file

You will also need to install GAPPS for Android 4.1

Since it is based on 4.2.1 this should be CM 10.1 not 10.

I didnt use odin in a long time... I have N8000 wifi+3G, 4.0.4 and if I flash 4.1.2(LL3) -I have a different CSC btw- will the note be factory reset ? I tried on my galaxy s2 and I remember that I didnt loose anything.

Also are force closes common for upgrading from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 ?
