By any chance is the repo server down? when your "create-cm10-directory.sh" calls "repo init -u git://github.com/cyanogenmod/android.git -b jellybean"

The follow error is returned any ideas?

see if you can manually run "repo init -u git://github.com/cyanogenmod/android.git -b jellybean" from your cm10 directory. i might have to edit the script and have it ran from that directory

I tried that before I posted same error I also redownloaded "repo" and still nogo.

Yes I should have everything I need it's time for me to start googling, I never had a problem when I was on Ubuntu 10.04 but now running 12.04 I know unsupported. If I find a fix for compiling on 12.04 I'll post it hopefully it may help someone else.

my guess is that its a problem with 12.04. im having the exact same issue. i just installed 12.04 and had never tried compiling on it but just tried getting everything installed and im getting that error as well. weird. ill have to see what the problem is

12.04 has been a nightmare for me. Open bug ticket for freezing set to critical, and nobody has even been assigned to it in 4 months. Thinking about going back to Suse 12.1. Far fewer issues.

Do you have openjdk-6, 7 or Sun-java installed?

Brother, I sure wasn't. But I'm itching to. The freezing just gets too bad to even try. Even if it tried to compile succesfully, it would freeze in the process. I have tried so many different kernel/graphics configs, and still a no go. Reinstalling Suse tomorrow when I get up. Then, time to play, learn, and hopefully contribute. I spent years as a tech rep, and troubleshooting and bug hunting is a passion for me. Ready to get at it.

Thanks but the problem Sk8r, Rebel, and myself are having is not setting up the enveroment and building, the problem is it fails on 12.04 which is an experimental OS for compiling Android.

I cannot even get linux on my laptop. I have tried Ubuntu and Linux Mint and cannot get either one to install. I have read numerous articles on the Ubuntu site that deals with the problem I am having but it is all for dealing with the problem once you already have the distro installed, not it borking things before install. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 360M graphics card. When I run from my live USB, it will run for a few seconds and then the screen goes black with huge white blocks on it.

I read that if you push ctrl + alt + f1 it is supposed to take you to a text installer or recovery where you can remove all the NVIDA drivers included with the distro in order to just run the proprietary driver from Nvidia that is supposed to fix the graphical problems but i guess it only works after the distro is installed. When running from the live USB I tried this when the screen got borked and nothing happened. I am about ready to give up!!! I would really love to learn and help but this is ridiculous. Any of you know anything that might help me get it installed? I have tried running from USB and CD. the only way I have been able to get anything to work is to load Ubuntu into oracle VM program. I guess there is no graphical problems with it because it is the VM running thru windows handling the graphics, not the OS itself.

I flashed the nghtly last night, and it was really nice, I like the new notifications setup. Unfortunately when I went to restore my backup it said the MD5 didn't match, so I had to start from scratch with CM9.

Once audio is working, I think it will be a DD for me too.

Try Zorin linux, its based on Ubuntu and worked on my system when I had grafix problems with Ubuntu. New ver. is based on Ubuntu12.04, I'm having problems trying to build android but its due to lack of knowledge lol. Homepage: http://zorin-os.com/

I'm using ClockworkMod TOUCH 5.5.0.4 v4.3 and I cannot get this to install. Whenever I try and install the CM10 zips no matter which one I get an abort. The first jelly bean build (rains) installed fine. What could I be doing wrong?
