Probably known around here, but, this Moto X kernel works on Droid Maxx, all phone functions still work too, like active display ect. The dev isn't updating it but the source is available , for those of you like me who build your own.

Faux123 has a current kernel also with back ported features, active display works but you need to completely remove the Aon.apk / Aon.odex from the /priv-app folder and re download from the Play Store.

One thing I noticed with either custom kernel is active display is not as "active" , but does still function and for performance I did not have any better or worse functionality as far as gaming / benchmarking / battery life with either custom kernel.

The ability to tweak a custom kernel to squeeze every ounce of performance and battery life out of the device, as well as features such as fastcharge which are made available by a custom kernel.

I have an unlocked bootloader, rooted, running stock with Xposed framework installed. Can I just flash this kernel or do I need to be running Moto X firmware? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Nope I'm running the same setup as you. The faux kernel is running fine for me and everything seems to be working. You can flash away.

I tried flashing and went into a bootloop. Do you happen to have a link the to kernel you flashed? I flashed it in TWRP2.7 and wiped cache and davlik.

I flashed with 2.7.0.0, no problems.

I had some Active Display issues with the first couple of versions, but it has been fine since.

Can anyone tell me what the cpu clock settings are for the stock kernel? I'm fully overclocked and it's making this 4.4 battery life much much worse lol

Anyone else not able to turn on Wi-Fi with the Faux Kernel? It didn't even stay in the "on" position for a second... I've cleared cache and dalvik in recovery, and nada...
