Please Don't paste links under false pretenses .. its the same file as US retail version. not for the Indian one. Also one of the Moto Employee asked us not to install this file.
Is it so ? What will I get by doing something bad for Ur phone ? ???????? It's Ur wish to install or not to . And also ask Ur Moto employee for the nougat update !

Don't be afraid. It should work on multiple versions of our phone. The official update for the July security patch was also a 'US' version, legitimate for all retail phones.
And yes, possibly it is an (official) soak test. It won't harm you! It will only remove you from the official upgrade path. But most things here on XDA are 'unofficial'. So what. Once an official update is out, it will be sorted out here within a day, I presume!

Motorola and an article on Android Police (http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/10/22/psa-android-7-0-nougat-not-officially-moto-g4-g4-plus/) clearly indicate the Nougat software is a soak test and not an official update. Additionally, some of the fastboot steps listed above will erase your userdata and you don't want that. I'm waiting for the official release. "Buyer beware."
Of course you should erase user data. You're installing a new rom! Make a backup of your apps, using Titanium Backup, wipe everything and Install Nougat. Root your Nougat and then reinstall all apps again using Titanium Backup. That way you'll have the best performance and battery backup!!

To each his own. Fastboot allows the easiest method of upgrading without having to reinstall everything. Assumption is staying with OEM rather than flashing different custom roms as most direct resetting to factory.

This is not "official" and not "Indian" rom, don't get fooled. It is the older SOAK Android N update for US phones from this thread:
