As we have already tested, the Galaxy W ICS does not boot on our device. Skywalker01 described the differences between those devices, altough they are similiar, they are not the same.

And I personally don't even give a sh** on the "great" droidxda people who urge you "to click their ads" and only offer "ports" that were made with the ROM kitchen - something that literally anybody could try. And as we know that our device is somewhat special and complicated to develop from source (see also the CM7 porting thread), this is very, very, VERY unlikely to work at all. The kitchen is a tool, but aside from good tools you also need know how and not everything is portable. The only real solution is to sit down on your bottom, read and compare sources and build. It's a lengthy process and not easy - but only this path will lead you to a successful and bootable ROM (see how far our great guys have already come with cyanogen 7). And remember - most of us are not developers or even specialists - only enthusiast people who try to fix what Samsung broke (lag, reboot issues, etc.) in their spare time - and everybody also has a real life. And that's most of time more important than a stupid phone :D

Well said, your never EVER going to be able to port a rom from source with kitchens or whatever other tool rom chefs use. I have numerous people PM me about this device, so I'll say it here for everyone to see.

It would be pretty much impossible for us to port this to this device as we don't have it, and the hardware is very different. If people have tried so far and are failing, i'm guessing it would be a royal pain in the ass to get it up and running.

/over and out.

Everybody has the right to their own opinion. All i know is that droidxda guys don't have to give a sh*t about our device, they are not obliged to do what they do for it and they never promised anything, except to give it a shot (whatever their ways are), they didn't ask for any money and donations, if someone doesn't feel like clicking their ads u don't have to, no one is holding a gun against ur head. There will always be people *****ing and insulting for no reason, if u don't care about what droidxda does, just ignore such threads, just don't be a hypocrite coz we all know if any working ics version appears those people will be the first to flash it.

It was all build up so that most of people clicked their ads to generate money.
Remember that stupid vote. We all believed they would try and asked other people to vote too.

guys can you please tell me what is so cool about ics?
    why everyone wants that?

1- a lot of new features and options (lockscreens, widgets, multitasking interface, swipe to remove notification etc etc etc ... )
2- gpu accelerated interface (unlike froyo nad GB that use CPU accelerated) , which obviously saves some cpu power.
3- if someone ports it, it would be AOSP , so more free RAM and less samsung crap =>better multitasking and performance in general.
    4-better looking UI and theming
and a lot more, but i think these are enough to make a point ;)
