Found something ...
try disabling auto-rotation feature (settings -> display)
It works perfectly for me now.

Can you confirm that works for you too?

Did you dind a way to calibrate g-sensor on froyo?

Why the auto-rotation feature hangs so much for us?

Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

PHH mentioned something on IRC today that makes sense. Both the TouchScreen and GSensor are on the I2C bus.

When Auto-Rotate is on this will constantly poll the gsensor and keep the I2C bus busy. Now that you mentioned it stops after turning the Autorotate feature off it all makes perfect sense.

I am not sure if dev's can change the polling rate or maybe the I2C speed in kernel but i think thats where the problem is.

Thanks mavy 170 for this intersting explaination...

Found a possible good solution, it seems to work very well for me :
It is impossible to calibrate g-sensor in froyo 2.2
-But haret.exe use some wm drivers before booting, so i just tried to calibrate the g-sensor into windows mobile, shutting off and restarting the whole thing.
The results are i had only one little hang for now, it is much much better.
I just don't believe the solution was that simple ...

Can you confirm that works for you too?

Thanks all for your tips and lighnings.

Has anyone tried editing the value key "EnableShaking" to 1 from windows registry under gsensor? Prior to editing, my matt 1.5 screen become non responsive after a few seconds of playing around with android's display-> gsensor calibration. Now after more than a minute of shaking. Screen is still responsive.

Soft reset in windows after editing is required before launching android.

In mattc, the g-sensor calibration tool is in Display settings. Might be there in other builds, dunno.
