With either cwm or twrp on our device it doesn't matter where you install FROM. I understand being cautious but all you have to do is flash the ROM from either internal OR external although internal is always recommended just for speed sake.

As far as installing TO: my install scripts take care of that for you. Don't worry, you should not have to worry about bricking your device. Of the thousands of people who've flashed my ROM, I haven't heard of one who hard bricked or even soft bricked. Not yet at least. I think you'll be fine. Hope that answers your question.

Yes it did, appreciate the feedback, I'll give it a whirl!

short story- for some reason, after a song finishes playing, the next song will route through to the phone speakers even though i have headphones/aux cable plugged in.

long story- i was going on a few months using AOSP based JB ROMs (CM10, AOKP, etc). but when AT&T finally released the official JB, i decided to switch back to TouchWiz. on Jan.1, i started with LoserROM v.1.5.1, and that's when this first started happening. on that ROM, when a song ends, it switches to phone speakers, i would get a dialog saying "Unfortunately, settings has closed." version 1.6 came out soon after, so i tried that and it still happened.

so i decided to switch to this ROM (v.2.2) yesterday. but now, it's kinda acting the same. the same switching to phone speakers occurs, but i'm not getting the dialog box anymore.

other stuff- before i started using AOSP based ROMs, i tried out the ports of JB TouchWiz (T-Mobile ports, Sprint ports, AT&T GNote2 ports), but this never happened before.

testing- this happens on both the stock/TouchWiz Music Player app and Google Play Music app. also, both ROMs were flashed after a clean wipe.

temp fix (kinda)- if i skip to the next track, it automatically switches back to the headphones/aux cable. but if i press Previous/restart the same track, it still plays through the phone speakers.

i found these other threads, but no resolution was found:
* http://xdaforums.com/show....php?t=2093243
* http://xdaforums.com/show....php?t=2090006

i don't want to switch back to AOSP. has this happened to anyone else?

You're absolutely right, and it's not unheard of. In fact, it has happened to me before as well. I did add Awesome Beats and that was the only audio change I made. Does Loser Rom have that as well? It could be a bug in the stock firmware but it could also be the Beats Audio doing it. I'll look into it as I'm not exactly sure what causes it to happen.

On a second note, I'm uploading v2.3 right now.
Changelog:
1/14/2013: v2.3:
-Kernel update with bug fixes
-Kernel cpumax set at stock values by default
-BIOS boot animation added
-Custom bootanimation.zip support added

Try placing this in /data/local and make sure it's named bootanimation.zip. It will replace the one that is packaged with the rom. Just overwrite it. http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1607682&d=1357020212 This is the best I can do since qmg files aren't extractable as they are proprietary.

You can place it manually or flash this CWM package I made for it. Stock Samsung Boot Animation.zip

Very very strange. After flashing 2.3 I am now missing things on the root of my SD card. Mainly they were morphology and acid mod. No clue why they are gone.

It will be okay to dirty flash unless you have issues, then clean flash. Please note that if you've made any theming mods, they will disappear if you flash 2.3 overtop of 2.2 for the sake of uniformity and error proofing.

Since they are not included in the ROM, anything that mods the framework files or ads a file specific mod (morphology and acid mod) get overwritten, otherwise the phone would be unstable for those who flash clean.

Are you able to get back to download mode? The only thing I did to the ROM was update the kernel and the boot animation which worked fine on my end. I haven't done anything else to it at all.

I'm not so sure something else fishy isn't happening there...I'm very suspicious. if you need my help trying to get your phone back to normal, send me a PM and we can figure it out provided you can get into download mode.

lol jeez. It sounds like you've got a lot going on over there pickup... glad you were able to get back to recovery. That is really strange that those disappeared though.

Also regarding the boot animation, I set the stock one in a flashable zip in the OP. Luckily you have the freedom now to change it to whatever you choose, easily, just find one you prefer and flash it or place it in /data/local.

No problem buddy! Sorry you had such trouble tonight getting things going. I hope everything is sorted out now and you enjoy/ have better luck. If not let me know and we will figure something out for you.

Thanks for this great ROM. I get really good battery life.
Thanks :) Glad you like it. I got your message about the CRT off as well. I want to include it, but I will need time to actually program it. It's a development project. I can't make promises but it's really cool and I want it in my rom. I will work on it. As far as AOSP lock screen, I am not sure but I think there is a flashable one. I can't guarantee functionality if you flash that lock screen though.

Please note: Photos represent theme work. Please use Wanam Xposed Framework (Included) to theme the ROM to your liking.

    Information:

This is a stock-based ROM that I've made using UCUEMJB firmware for the AT&T Galaxy S3. I've spent a lot of time developing this ROM making it nice and stable and using the tweaks I thought were the best for smoothness, battery life, and stability. This ROM uses a modified, optimized UCUEMJB kernel by me that includes support for init.d scripts and a few extra bells and whistles.

    Features:
    • UCUEMJB Android 4.3 Official Base
    • Modified and optimized UCUEMJB kernel by me
    • Extended power menu
    • Extended APN list
    • Smoothness and battery life tweaks
    • Fully de-odexed
    • Fully zipaligned
    • Bashed
    • Rooted
    • init.d script support and tweaks
    • Real time status bar colors
    • Real time battery bar mod
    • 1% battery mod
    • ADB support
    • Debloating
    • Xposed Framework for custom theming
    • AT&T logo removed
    • Wifi Notification removed
    • Google Now
    • S-Voice
    • Multiwindow
    • Google Keyboard
    • Multi-language support
    • AllianceRom Boot Animation
    • Increased group messaging size
    • Increased MMS size and quality
    • AT&T Contacts removed
    • System sounds from the Nexus 4
    • No increasing ringtone
    • SMS split removed, messages with multiple pages combined
    • Blacklisting
    • MMS slideshow removed so MMS appears threaded and individual
    • Multi SMS lock
    • Call block menu in settings
    • Popup Browser
    • Many other tweaks...

    Installation Instructions:
    1. You MUST have the UCUEMJB or UCUEMJ2 bootloader and the UCUEMJB modem installed before proceeding or this ROM will not work properly. Your data and wifi may be broken if you do not do this first. These are available here: Bootloader and Modem Options
    2. Download ROM to SD card
    3. Reboot into recovery (Must be the latest version)
    4. Do a factory reset
    5. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
    6. Wipe system
    7. Flash Rom (This process may take a minute or two)
    8. Wipe cache and dalvik cache again just to be safe
    9. Tap reboot
    10. In TWRP: Slide the slider to allow TWRP to fix SuperSU permissions (optional)

    Post Installation Instructions:
    • Upon first boot, SystemUI may force close due to modifications. Let the phone settle for a minute and reboot. You should not experience this again.
    • It is HIGHLY suggested that you keep ALL Google Now cards off, verify that you are not updating your location with Google Maps (in Maps settings menu). Remember, Google Now automatically turns on your location settings to update through Google Maps, so after enabling Google Now, unless you want your location on all the time, go to Google Maps and turn it off. Your battery will thank you even more.
    • If you get a Google account sign-in error after installing, there is an easy fix. Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts and Sync. Please REMOVE your current Google account and then add it again. I do not know why this happens to some people, but it doesn't seem to be ROM related. It happens on several devices including the Nexus. Removing and then re-adding your account again fixes this problem

New version 3.0 is up and running. Completely new base. Theming will come later, but most of loserskaters real-time mods have been added so please make sure to head on over to all of his modification threads and thank him as well as enewman17. I have updated tweaks and we are good to go on the new base. Flash away and enjoy! Remember to read the OP as flashing instructions are new. Please make sure you check the MD5 for verification. SystemUI may crash upon first boot. That is normal. Simply reboot the phone and it should not occur again. Thanks for all your patience guys. This has taken me a long time, but I hope it is worth it. :)
