If you are using Odin version, then just load the CSC that you want instead of the one included.
If you are using CWM, then flash JS8 and then use Odin to flash the CSC file that you want only, no pit and no re-partition, only the CSC file.

Thank you for your answer , i will use odin version just i dont understend " load the CSC that you want instead of the one included " . You mean after i flas the JS8 i have to flas again the CSC by odin ?

quick issue.
i flashed jvk official tru Odin and after that DamianGTO's beta 2 kernel.
the problem is that i want to flash jvk deodexed from [Ramad]'s thread but i get an error about some script:
Amend script (update-script) is no longer supported.
amend script was deprecated by google in android 1.5.
it was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the CWM 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting(update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
installation aborted.

is it kernel related or zip packaged related?

got his reply.

The firmwares in the first post are all made using Amend (update-script), previous CWM versions 2.5.xx had no problem using Amend, CWM 3 uses Edify (updater-script) only, this has been introduced in the hacked JVX Kernel by Chainfire a few days ago adding RFS support to CWM 3.

Even that Edify is more than 8 months old now, there has been no benefit in using it as only CWM versions 2.5.xx could be used on SGS before now.

Another XXJVK has been added, this includes Chainfire's hacked XXJVK kernel with CWM 3(with RFS support).

Both CWM packages use Edify (updater-script).

Allright!

I am using the non-deodexed version with CF-root from your other thread.

Everything is very smooth, no issues, but unfortunately, seems to be that Gingerbread is not really suitable for our sgs's...

The Ram is insufficient; meaning there is just not enough Ram available to run some apps. Sometimes, if I am not alert, during normal use there is even less than 100 MB of ram available.
Maybe it's enough for most most of them, but not all of them. iGo navigation for instance, takes a lot of ram. It's not running as smooth as it was on froyo JS8. And I do try to release some Ram before starting apps like this.

And forget about multi-tasking. Well, I said at the beginning, there are no issues, but this is actually a big issue.

Sometimes it pisses me off: Such an expensive so called "high-end" phone, with such an inefficient file system and insufficient RAM.

Since I am not an Android expert (far from it), I would like to ask you if your deodexed version would run smoother than the one I am using right now..

I am going to post this on your other thread as well, in case you miss it and maybe other users can also give some imput.

Tks.

JVK DEODEXED ---> crt + % battery + extended power menu + animation(s) + lockscreen

I RECOMEND FLASHING THOSE FILES ONLY ON RFS
YOU CAN TRY ON EXT4 BUT YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY

STILL YOU CAN EXTRACT THEM AND FLASH MANUALY ON EXT4

How to install:
1) Copy files to Internal SDCARD
2) Follow the procedure from screenshots:

or use CWM app from your appdrawer...Flash an uptate.zip from menu... pick modification and let it do the magic...

I took some time to deodex some stock firmwares that I would like to share.

    Before you read any further:

1: You need to have a copy of the files on /efs partition of the device, to do so then your device must be rooted, have busybox installed and have ADB installed on your PC, then execute the following in Command prompt:
cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/platform-tools (Use cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/tools if you are using an older ADK versions)
    adb shell
    su
    cp -r /efs /sdcard/efs
    exit
    exit
Move the copy of the efs folder from the internal sdcard to your PC and keep it safe, you never know when flashing, do it now if you haven't done that yet.

2: I'm not responsible for any damage to your device, use at your own risk.

    Credit and thanks:

    All firmwares are:
    Deodexed
    Zipaligned
    Rooted
    Have Busybox 1.19 pre-installed
All firmwares are with there own stock un-modified Kernels, this leaves the freedom of staying with stock Kernel or choose another Kernel to the user.

Have the modified 3e recovery pre-installed (Froyo Only)
Have Quickboot and CWM pre-installed on /data
(Froyo CWM packages only), this allows uninstalling them if needed.

    CWM Packages:
    How to proceed:
You need to have a 2e recovery, root, CWM installed and any lagfix must be disabled before installing any ROM

Download the desired ROM,extract and copy the zip file to the internal sdcard, reboot to recovery and install using CWM from there.

The first boot takes some time (around 5 min.) so give the device time to boot.

Using modified 3e recovery (Froyo Only):
To use CWM on the new 3e recovery in the future, use the volume rocker to navigate and the power button to execute 'reinstall packages', the phone will restart to recovery again and you need to do the same again to get to CWM, this only happens the first time, you only need to execute 'reinstall packages' one time in recovery to get to CWM after that.

Quickboot and Rom Manager (Froyo Only):
Quickboot and Rom Manager(not the recovery CWM) get wiped if a factory wipe/reset is done or the product code is changed on the MultiCSC Roms, so just re-install from Market.

I hope that you will enjoy using the deodexed Roms, and good luck flashing your devices. :)

Odin Packages:(No bootloaders are included in any of the firmwares below)
How to proceed: (Any lagfix must be disabled before installing any ROM)
Download the firmware package that you want to flash, then:

*If your device is already partitioned according to 512.pit file then just load the files that you have downloaded to Odin and flash the device as you are used to.

*If your device is partitioned according to 803.pit or 513.pit file, then load the firmware files along with 512.pit, check re-partition and flash the device.

I hope that you will enjoy using the deodexed Roms, and good luck flashing your devices. :)

Odin and 512.pit file: Download (157 KB)

    Update log:

    CWM Packages (26-2-2011):
Both bml7 and bml8 will be flashed with the Kernel(zImage) from now on. Normally, only bml7 is being flashed , but it seems to me that the device becomes more responsive when bml7 and bml8 are updated, like when flashing with Odin. (The bml7 flashing only is related to HTC and other manufacturers devices which only have one sector in the ROM for the Kernel, Galaxy S has 2 sectors according to the pit files, Primary Kernel and Recovery(Secondary) Kernel).

    Odin Packages (17-3-2011):
    Odin packages are added.

Odin packages will work optimally with a 512.pit partitioned device, if your device is partitioned with an other pit file, then you need to re-partition to 512.pit file while flashing the device.

    I had to choose between:
*Unmodified 3e-recovery with support for all pit files with no CWM support.

    and

*Modified 3e-recovery with the ability to use CWM but limited to 512.pit file.

I did choose the second option, because I think that the majority of our members already use 512.pit and would like to have CWM support as well.

    Gingerbread (27-3-2011):
No CWM support, uses unmodified 3e recovery

    Members contributions (5-4-2011):
Members contributions have been added to post #2, this is for our members who want to share there work for deodexed firmwares, please post in this thread if you want to contribute telling which version it should be used with and it will be added. Thanks :)

**) always have restore notification file in case youve messed up something...
*) best to do it with WinRAR - so make sure you got it installed...
    1) download stock_anim.rar
    2) unpack - it will have anim folder with bunch of files inside
    3) now download battery mod you like
    4) double-click on the file youve just downloaded to open with WinRAR
    5) at the window that oppens pick double-click on system and then on framework
    6) you will see three files - double-click on framework-res.apk
    7) this will open new WinRAR window (do not close first window!)
    8) double-click on res folder
    9) now just drag-and-drop the anim foder you unpacked at point 2) over the existing one
    10) click OK at windows that will prompt you
    11) close the WinRAR window that youve just updated with anim
    12) click YES on window that will prompt you about archive update
    13) congrats youve got stock anim at file - copy to sd and cwm flash it
    15
    JVK DEODEXED ---> crt + % battery + extended power menu + animation(s) + lockscreen

Notification bar icons (Wi-Fi, network coverage bars, etc.):
Turn green when you have an uninhibited connection to Google, white when you don't.
Hint: if you're in a hotel or airport using Wi-Fi, the bars won't turn green until you launch the browser and get past the captive portal.
