Talking WOAH! I got past step 6!!!
I kept having the same problems as lots of you, couldn't get past step 6.

Here's exactly what I did:

So I have loaded already an insecure kernel.
I have USB debug enabled.
Plug in my USB.
Start Superoneclick, it opens, I hit root
It stalls at step 6
So then I try to turn off USB debug, but it says you have to unplug USB cable, so I did.
When I did that, Superoneclick proceeded through to step 7!
So then I plugged the phone back in with USB debug enabled and it carried on loading everything!
And now I have a rooted S2!

If you give this a try, hope it works for you

Has anyone with a Captivate (preferably running 2.3.4) tried this yet?

Question SuperOneClick 2.1.1 not working once flashed to 2.3.5 on Infuse
OK, I ran SuperOneClick 2.1.1 to root my Infuse.
Then I installed ROM I997UCKI4 and it not working 100%. I mean most functions seem OK, but on boot there is a rainbow screen that looks like the LCD got smashed, and the battery life is really really bad.
All that aside, my real problem is, I cannot go back to stock.
ODIN 1.7 won't work as it appears that the I997UCKI4 ROM (2.3.5) has unrooted my phone and SuperOneClick fails at step #6 every time.
What can I do to return to stock so I can swap this out for the SG2?

Anyone know why there are so many of us who are stuck at step #6?
I tried pulling the USB at step 6, and it does continue, but then if fails.

I would recommend that if you use SOC that you make sure you don't need to re-apply it after an update from a 2.2.x Android system.
Seems that I've read a lot of posts (just google OneStepClick cannot get past #6) where most folks on 2.3.x and over cannot re-run it again.

I am happy to have the free app and the knowledgeable people who brought it to us... Just frustrated being stuck.
