I did in fact Tot back to all original as I always do before going to have work done lol saves on any raised eyebrows. Actually I bought this used in new condition about a month ago, But I have the insurance on it so I took it straight to my corporate Sprint store... They looked at it and said yep the screen looks bad, luckily they're now a repair shop also so they took it back and 30 min later I'm back in business with my original phone and a new screen :) Ofcourse good day gone bad some A-Hole backed into my truck and took off while I was getting my phone fixed...but hey I have insuramce for that too...

Well written interesting story.
Man you have a knack for writing.

So far so good.. I was on ls980 baseband and it didn't work but flashing the zvc radio zip did the trick... Running good so far...

Edit: only thing broken is video recording and playback

Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

Any fix for it? No one on the Google+ community seems to have a Sprint LG G2 or knows anything about the video playback issue.

Is anyone having issues with the Google Play video or YouTube working? Also the Screen recording feature crashes.

I just flashed this today. I'm running the latest nightly (currently CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140713-0450-ls980) and can confirm that video does NOT work. At least in YouTube. Anything I try to play there just gives a generic "Playback Error" and stops.

Edit - YouTube works from chrome, just not the app. I'll poke a bit more. At least (for me anyway) there's a workaround for YouTube.

Another update on the video playback issue. I uninstalled whatever update I was pushed for YouTube and tried to play back a random video. It failed. I disabled HD playback, and it started playing. Tried another one with HD off and got the same result. Reinstalled the update and and got the same result again. Appears it's an issue with HD streaming/playback, but that may just be me. Can't test with downloaded videos as I don't have any.

Can't get the netflix app to connect far enough for me to sign in and test. Going to futz with that for a bit and update in the morning.

Edit - tried with no luck to get Netflix working. Just keeps spinning, and from what I can tell, isn't pulling any data at all.

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

Anyone try this yet? Video still broken?

Flashed it this morning. Same issue though everything else appears to be smoother. And OK Google is integrated...don't recall that in the previous build.

It's been pulled.. No official support.. there is an unofficial thread.. Or try the new liquid smooth ROM on it now and it's great.. Also vanir and mahdi are good alternatives
