I already asked for it but i had no luck. The post/APK, as stated in the title, seems to be outdated since 2011.
What needs to be done by Mexicans/Iusacell is selecting the chinese ME722 1.10 and then adding internet(H/Edge) by creating the APN in mobile networks.
Hope i helped anyone from Iusacell Mexico.

PS: APN:
Name: Internet Iusacell
APN: web.iusacellgsm.mx
username: iusacellgsm
password: iusacellgsm
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6

Anyways; we still get the disconection problem stated in this post: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1691017 so be patient with the internet(Not much of a problem in the latests builds of cm9/EPY3 anyway).

Problems with VIVO Brazil

Hi,

I'm using VIVO from Brazil and note that with Europe Central 900/2100 i got a stronger signal vs the one with VIVO 850/2100 (South America/Brazil) wich is alread in BBV4.

1) can you check if my version (attached) of VIVO is the same as yours ? And updated it as an option?
2) can you make a "Generic" baseband of frequencies from 850/2100, 900/2100, and others ? That could be "uncountry" :)

Thanks

Thank you for this wonderful tool.

Recently I ported my number to Vodafone Corporate number and since then I was facing issue with Network. I tried using the default baseband switcher in Quarx latest 13 Oct build however, was still facing poor network reception. Finally, I used this app and selected Singapore/India and then issue got fixed and now I always have full network bars always.

Thanks again for this wonderful app. :) :good:

Can you make a program compatible with every phone? I would like to be able to select form different basebands or to be able to switch from different frequencies (900Mhz, 1700 Mhz etc.)

Sprint is a CDMA carrier, so I don't think they use SIM cards (except maybe for LTE I guess). AT&T and T-Mobile are the big GSM carriers that would work. I personally use AT&T with the T-Mobile 3.4.2-107-9 Baseband

Hi guys.
I wonder if Baseband Switcher is able to enable 1700/2100 AWS on IHDP56LC1 version of Defy? Of it's just a tool to restore original frequencies after updating with custom ROM?

Basically question is - does this tool enable/allow to use any frequencies set OR it just restores them according to the version (IHDP56LC1, IHDP56LC2, IHDP56LC3...) ???

Thank you in advance.

You are right, this tool only changes KNOWN basebands, it doesn't create new ones. Every CM9 and above has it's own basebandswitcher buildin.

Thanks a lot for your reply. However could you please elaborate what do you mean by "KNOWN"?
I'm trying to make my IHDP56LC1 work as IHDP56LC3 (this one has 1700 and 2100, these are standard known frequencies). Can I achieve it with switcher?

Or by KNOWN you mean "known to this modification of the phone"? So in my case IHDP56LC1 will not be able to work with 1700/2100?

hi,

just switched over to android from winmo after many many years. living in new zealand at the moment. bought defy from usa, flashed cm7 beta 6. everything works fine with vodafone nz prepay sim (i.e. wifi, gps, gsm/umts, etc).

but when i switched to the 2degrees new zealand prepay sim, i can't register on ANY network/carrier. i do an auto search and the phone can find the 3 main networks - 2degrees, vodafone nz and telecom nz. but it won't connect to any of them.

this baffles me since 2degrees has a roaming partnership with vodafone nz. it should at least connect to vodafone, correct?

i tried changing basebands from bbswitcher v3.1 - tried all of the different basebands, but none of them allow me to connect. the networks are listed after a search, but i can't connect to any. Any ideas? Please help! Thanks so much!

kamileon1
defy (usa t-mobile version, unlocked), cm7 beta 6 rom (rooted of course)

May be a bit late now but 2degrees admitted to a problem with their SIM cards that meant some phones wouldn't connect to the network properly. Many Motorola's were affected by this including Telecom NZ's Milestone and Defy

Defy mini is rooted, would baseband switcher work on it?
P.S. I'll get correct polish baseband for Defy mini. Would it be enough to take it from /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default and paste to 2nd mini with screwed baseband? Is it correct way how the switcher actually works?
Thank you for reply!

Same issue here...this can make my battery drain to fast?...(I mean use other baseband)

Edit: just install the 3.1 version and work

I compared those 2 "new" Argentinian with the old one. They are completly different, as the "old" one is from a milestone 2. So it should be intigrated as a 3rd one :D

Will try today if I can do this, but I can't promise, as I don't own the sources of this tool :(

Edit: It is possible. Next version will include the other Argentinia Baseband and this indian.

I can post them, but they are exactly the as the ones Baseband Switcher install if you select the "Cental Europe" baseband, I don't see the point, I compared the md5sums.
