Great to see some positive results from this hack/tweak.
To get better benchmark result...
1) Signal strength: THe higher the signal, the better link quality -> better speed
2) Do the test during late night or very early morning, where the network congestion is lesser. I got the best result duing 3 am in my country
3) Change test server until you get the best result. The nearest test server doesn't mean the the fastest
As I mentioned earlier, not every telco/providers are enabling the VJ compression (CSLIP) at their backend, so, the tweak is not effective.
This tweak may be applicable to other model which using pppd. Just find pppd*.options in /system/etc/ppp/peers/ or
/system/etc/ppp/options
