Hi,

I have a S4 i9505, with Kingo Android ROOT.
I can't install CWM with Kingo, so I want CF Auto Root.
I also want KitKat 4.4.2 when available in my country.

1. Will I lose my data when un-rooting Kingo?
2. Will I lose my data when updating to 4.4.2 (via Kies if safe, or via Odin)?
3. Is it possible to unroot from Kingo and install other root (CF).
4. Do I have big chances to brick my phone with what I want?

Thanks, both of you.

So, what are the steps what I need to do to unroot Kingo (if needed), update to 4.4.2 if available in my country, and install CF?

1. Un-root Kingo (if necessarily otherwise skip this step).
2. Install 4.4.2 via Kies
3. Root with CF.

Are this the right steps, or do I miss something?

Just asking this to avoid bricking my phone.

Step 1: Download the firmware package and
Odin v3.09 , and extract the zip files.
Step 2: Run Odin3 v3.09 as an Administrator.
Step 4: Switch off the Galaxy S4 and put it in
Download Mode. To do this, press Volume
Down + Home + Power buttons.
Step 5: Connect the Galaxy S4 to the computer
via the USB cable while the phone is in the
Download mode. Wait until a blue sign
appears in Odin.
Step 6: Click on the AP button in Odin and
select the .tar.md5 file that was extracted in
Step 1.
Step 7: In Odin, select the Auto Reboot and F.
Reset Time options, but make sure that the re-
partition checkbox is not checked.
Step 8: Now, click on the Start button in Odin
to begin the installation process.
Step 9: Once the installation is complete, the
device will restart and a PASS message will
appear in the left-most box at the top of Odin.
Step 10: Once you get the Samsung logo on
the home screen, you can unplug the device
from the computer and close Odin.

These steps would make u hav 4.4.2 and unroot ur device both then u can apply respective method to root 4.4.2

I have 4.3 right now.
Lots of people say that 4.4.2 has a modified bootloader, and modified EFS folder.

Can that get me stuck while updating to 4.4.2 or isn't it any problem?

If you update to 4.4.2 you can't go back to 4.3 because the bootloader is locked ;) , but it doesn't matter 4.4.2 is better, and I'm waiting for the update in Holland to! Duurt altijd lang met Samsung updates XD

I hope that I don't brick my S4 because it looks like my root (Kingo Root) did make some problems at my phone (as I even can't get CWM working).
Kun je dit topic (van mij) eens lezen, en dan zeggen of je het probleem kent, en of ik me 'zorgen' moet maken daarover?
