Even in recovery there's no ext.sd card.

One request to kasper_h:
You say that there's now a stock Omni kernel, is this the first time that the rom is completed without a Mackay kernel?

Edit:
-----------------------------
The same 32 Go sd card in another sgs, with Mackay rom 4.2.1 works fine....

The stock Omni kernel is 99% the same as stock CM11 kernel. Just a few additions. So this is the first build without Mackay kernel indeed. I did that hoping for a better working external SD in recovery.

Indeed, a full wipe is the way to go

@MrOban where do I switch to low ram? Couldn't find that option in cwm for example.

If I'm not wrong, the lowram option has been removed.

So, as suggested, I did the following in CWM recovery 6.0.4.7 after installing CM11 nightly which boots without a problem:

- wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, factory reset
- install omnirom galaxysmtd nightly from the 12th of January
- wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, factory reset.

Still the same result though. The phone just sits there at the samsung logo. I really have no idea anymore what could be the reason for this failure. Anyone else?

In recovery do factory reset and format system, then reflash the ROM and gapps. Reboot.

I tried it with CMW 6.0.4.7 (i think) and TWRP that is included in this kernel.

Could you link to the kernel you're using?
