Hello all,
I bought a Galaxy S2 after an HTC Desire.
So i'm pretty new to the Samsung procedures.

Some questions then:
1. If I root the device, is there a method to restore it as factory (no root, and original rom)?
2. After rooting will Kies still recognize the phone? Which updates will it provide? For the original CDC?
3. It should be possible to change the CDC, is it right? Is just writing another CDC's rom enough? Or do I have to change it on the phone before flashing the rom?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Regards,
Daemon

Hello all,

1. If I root the device, is there a method to restore it as factory (no root, and original rom)?

Remove root yes flash any full firmware original rom not unless you have saved it or can locate it .

But see DEV section many original roms saved .

2. After rooting will Kies still recognize the phone?

Which updates will it provide? For the original CDC?

Rooting changes nothing of itself .

Flashing firmware may change your product code and Kies has no updates .

3. It should be possible to change the CDC, is it right? Is just writing another CDC's rom enough? Or do I have to change it on the phone before flashing the rom?

Again posted in DEV section Multi CSC etc .
