So then whos feeling brave today??

I have 2 test files below, one is HBoot 1.09 and one is HBoot 2.14, both have the red text removed but they also have the tampered text removed

Now these are both untested and cause cause a brick so take caution and as always I can not held responsible for these files and you flash at your own risk!

HBoot 1.09: http://d-h.st/d4M
HBoot 2.14: http://d-h.st/QhR

Personally I think these will simply remove the text and you will be left with a grey box that says nothing but please do test and please reply and let us know how it went and post a screenshot of the finished result

Done and done! It worked! Hboot 1.09.

:good:

Re: [HBoot Mod] Remove red text from splash screen (Fastboot Downgrade!)

Another way to remove tampered. From s-off thread.

After achieving s-off. All you need to do is use the "fastboot oem lock" command in terminal/cmd, download the 2.20 ruu found on xda. Windows only. Reboot bootloader.Run the ruu. After its done, "fastboot oem unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
're-Install your recovery,flash your Rom.///payday///
You must have your unlock token already,or know how to get it.

Thanks, can anyone confirm this works 100% even after flashing custom rom/kernel etc...

fastboot flash zip TamperRemoveText-1.09.zip

Other than that, I <3 yooooooooooou!

Is there a way to both remove tampered flags and keep the changes in RegawMOD? Perhaps with the method c5satellite2 posted?

Yes, I just confirmed it. In fact, you can EVEN SKIP the "fastboot oem lock" step and never even have to boot into the stock (2.20) ROM! I totally forgot to oem-relock, but RUU 2.20 still ran all the way thru to the end anyway!! (Another added benefit to S-OFF I imagine?)

So here's the steps I took for a quick win:

1) TWRP: Full Nandroid Backup of ViperXL 3.2.3 & Elemental-X 4.4Beta Kernel (picked everything but Cache)
2) TWRP: Touch Home, Reboot, BOOTLOADER
3) BL: Ran RUU 2.20 straight from FASTBOOT USB.
4) RUU: 2.20 Completed, Phone automatically rebooted back into Bootloader (?) and no more ***Tampered*** message! :good:
5) BL: fastboot oem unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin (I did this just for the heck of it and it succeeded)
6) BL: fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2...etc...img
7) fastboot oem rebootRUU
8) fastboot flash zip PJ83IMG.zip
9) fastboot reboot
10) TWRP: Nandroid Full Restore
ViperXL Booted, Rebuilt Cache "Android is upgrading 1 of 320", PROFIT!!

Looks like my Wifi Partition & Radio/RIL will need custom re-flashing again of course, because my Wi-Fi is back to randomly reconnecting every once in awhile, gotta love it. I put HBOOT 1.09 back on with a custom message: "IF PHONE IS LOST, PLEASE CALL {wife's number}"

Got an idea for Stealth mode:
S-off phone
Remove tampered and red text
Change s-off text to s-on
Change cid back to correct cid for your carrier
Relock phone

We should in theory be able to make the phone look like it is s-on, but still be s-off.

So this is probably a dumb question but I can't figure out how to get the RUU to run that was downloaded from the link in the OP. That download in that thread just installed some "4Shared Desktop" thing. It put a new icon on my desktop, which I opened and went through the login procedures for (told me my email was already registered, and I've definitely never used this before). Now back to the file I downloaded from that link, when I try to run it, it tells me to close the 4shared desktop application. I opened my task manager and it's not in there. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help appreciated

Use this link instead

UPDATE: For some reason the link failed, go to the download page for the RUU in this thread, scroll down and I believe the third post.... there is a direct download link

    Remove Tampered Text!

    S-Off required
This is quite a lengthy process but this will remove the tampered text competely and not leave just a blank space at the top, you will need adb, fastboot, 2.20 RUU, recovery img and your Unlock_code.bin, so here goes:

First of all do a FULL backup in recovery (your phone will be wiped so dont miss doing this!)
While your phone is doing that heave over here to download the 2.20 RUU: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1814217
When backup has completely reboot into fastboot
    do: fastboot oem lock
    Reboot into Bootloader
    Run the RUU downloaded earlier
When it has finished do: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin (Dont panic if this fails, it failed for me all you need to do is go to HTCDev and unlock bootloader following the instructions)
When that has completed go back into fastboot and flash your recovery back: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img (twrp.img or whatever img your recovery is called)
Once done enter recovery and restore the backup you made earlier
After this you are all done for the main part but remember you flashed an RUU so everything an RUU flashes needs to be flashed back to what you want, this means reflash the HBoot, Splash image, radio and anything else that the RUU changes that you want to be different from the RUU
Done! Enjoy no tampered text in Bootloader :D

For those that want a quick easy flash with only red text removed please scroll down

For One XL/Evita Only! Hboot only will be flashed. S-Off is required. This can be flashed on any HBoot and can be used to easily downgrade hboot.

Can anyone work out what causes the loading bar to show or disappear?

    New method, customize your HBoot!

Please note this method is currently untested (although I have hex compared the before and after hboots and all the changes seem 100% fine)

I have made plug-ins for RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer

RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer allows you to remove the red text or change it to something else, change s-off text to s-on, change the build date/time and change the *** Unlocked *** text

Download the main app from here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1786498

Then download the plug-ins from here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=38216901&postcount=89

Choose the plug-in dependant on what version of hboot you want

Place the plug-in and RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer exe in the same directory and open the exe. Choose your options and create a zip and place that zip in your adb folder

boot into bootloader and enter fastboot mode.
    do:
    fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip PJ83IMG.zip (Or whatever you called the zip when you saved it)
    fastboot reboot

Quick simple flash that only removes red text:

Here it is for anyone that wants it:

    HBoot 1.09: http://d-h.st/bt9
    HBoot 1.14: http://d-h.st/pZ1
    HBoot 2.14: http://d-h.st/J1T
HBoot 2.15: http://d-h.st/toS (Thanks to exad)
    HBoot 2.18: http://d-h.st/Tnu

Make sure you have fastboot and adb installed
Place downloaded file in same directory as fastboot and adb is installed
boot into bootloader and enter fastboot mode.
    do:
    fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RemoveText-1.09.zip (for 2.14 version RemoveText-2.14.zip)
    fastboot reboot

This simply mods the hboot to remove the red text

Some people report issues with erase cache command, if you have the problem to fix simply go into recovery and wipe cache

This has been flashed and confirmed 100% working but as always we need a disclaimer:
I can not be held responsible for this zip please flash at your own risk!!

Since we ripped the new 2.15 hboot from the European OTA, I thought I would create a no red text splash hboot for those who just want to remove the red splash, and a plugin for those who want to add some swag to their bootloader screen.

I have already tested it myself.

    No red text hboot: http://d-h.st/toS

    Plugin: http://d-h.st/4pR
