This was the steps I did when I ota my m8 T-Mobile. I am rooted ,unlocked boot loader and s-off.
1. Flashed a stock T-Mobile nandroid backup thru twrp. http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2714456
2. Download stock recovery and install it using fastboot.
3. Go to settings>about devices>software update.
4. Install twrp and flash superuser to obtain root.
