Hi guys, My sister is enjoying the rom on her i9000 but the phone app is not getting voice search results for nearby shops etc. Like my N5 does... Location is on... Why else would it not work?
Thanks guys, Mark

I had this behavior up to 20131231 too (not sure, if it was the exact version).
The only thing I did, was fasterfix set to Germany.
To get the fix is like with stock-rom.
The accuracy is not yet exact as with stock-rom but it doesn't jump some 100 meters as before. Most times it follows good. When I stand still, it sometimes jumps about up to 20 meter but not often.

I tried the same with fasterfix for my area, and GPS had improved, but not like it was with samsung stock

This feature is not included in the AOSP dialer, you should look for the Google Dialer.
It's included with the Pa Gapps

HI
Actually It was the pa gapps... And the app itself looks identical to the phone app on my nexus 5...
pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20131230-signed.zip is the file I used...
Is anyone able to do a search on their phone app, and if so, please tell if you changed settings and which gapps you installed...

Thanks guys
Mark

Hi. Going to give this ROM a try :). Can I suggest that a link for the correct version of gapps be put in the first post? Took me a while to find one. Thanks to the dev for this ROM.

@kasper_h, for the next build can you take a look @ the kernel? I think that is something there that is messing with my phone. For the last 2 days i've been using cm11 and I had no reboots, so I think it might have something to do with the kernel...

Kernel is the same for all my Omni build from the last weeks. Nothing changed. So nothing to look at...

that's wierd, 'cause since the 02 build(if i'm not mistaken) it started to do this to me and now on cm i haven't had any reboot. what do you think it might be then?

I think the omni base isn't quite 100% stable yet..

I'm currently using cm based Mackay and it's completely rock solid.

Also, thanks to pawitp's fix there is now zero delay on incoming calls. Yippee! lol

Please, anybody can look into this? Thanks!

I have notice that when the free space in sdcard is under 500mb I have this free space error. Deleting or moving some files solves the problem(it did happened just before, here in my tab as well)

I have been sharing my CM7/CM9/CM10/CM10.1/CM10.2/CM11-based builds for several devices. MackayROM was first based on CyanogenMod sources, but I decided to move over to Omni as base for my ROM.

About Omni: Omni is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

If you run into errors, I may not be able to solve it!

If you know a solution to a problem, either upload it yourself to Gerrit Code Review or contact me through pm.

The ROM is based on Omni sources with the following changes:
    -Mackay Kernel:
-Set of cherries picked from gerrit (differing by the day)
-Some additional patches I did myself to the source code

Feature request are OK, but remember:
    1. I try to stay close to stock
    2. I will not include additional apps, unless they can be build from source
    3. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself

Although it is possible to enable ART, this is not advisable:
-Takes long to convert from Dalvik to ART on first boot
    -Needs more RAM
    -Can cause soft reboots
But off course, YMMV -> light users may have better luck

    Changelog of 27-Feb-2014
-Omni codebase of 26-Feb (e.g. new bootanimation :))
    -QS Ribbon is gone

-Custom kernels can be used only if specific for OmniROM => currently none
