I used this app to show dmesg during boot on the stock rom. I was trying to figure out what changes it makes so that I could patch the boot.img we're using now and hopefully get it to work. Do you think that might work?

Did you try plugging into "adb logcat" while booting? I remember that dumping messages earlier in the process than I expected, though that still may require getting reasonably far.

maybe....but i think the boot.img is okay....its doesn match the correct one because you set its size in boardconfig

I didn't mean get the phone to boot, I meant to get the dmesg logs from the kernel to output to the screen while its booting.

Yeah, it'll be quite difficult to find out what's wrong. Maybe someone needs to try and get a serial console, don't know if we need to find the connectors on the motherboard somewhere or if it's already possible to run the console through USB (might be possible with fastboot). I think the last time I developed an Android systemfrom scratch was on a Windows mobile phone where you had at least an on-screen text console. I can't do much at the moment since I'm on holiday

lol well enjoy your movie....there still some things i have to change. also the prebuilt kernel is funky. i say we just include our own already working boot.img and just use it as a one of the product copy things. hopefully i can have tht done by tomorrow. as for now...i must start my homework before i pass out. i spent a good four hours on this today
