Any news regarding OTA ICS update?

And certainly not with that attitude!
Given that the Optus website says they won't be updating until 'Early July' then I'm pretty sure they won't be giving out any updates tomorrow.
Keep waiting for the WWE release. WWICS is based on a Chinese ROM, which has various bits of Google stuff stripped out due to disagreements Google had with the Chinese government a couple years ago.
You might try Virtuous Vivo 1.0 from over here. It's based on a leaked testing version of the WWE.

Just forget about ICS and start waiting for the jelly bean erly july 2018, when Android 12.6 chilly potatoes will be presented.
However, early july is next week, so lets see if HTC decides to make us happy finaly.

jelly bean got ota'd for GSM Galaxy Nexus today :/ think i might need to upgrade to the next nexus device that comes out ;p

Hi Guys
Got sick of waiting so went ahead and installed Nik_Aura_Rebirth_sense4a on my Incredible S and let me just say its awesome! It runs the HTC One V rom so it has the cut down version of the full Sense 4 which i think is better than what HTC is going to give us with the update which will actually run 3.6!
Its fast and smooth and looks awesome! Why wait for the official update when you can get a better version now!!
Best of all is no bloatware from Optus!!!

Cheers!4HTC doesn't earn any money at all upgrading people from 2.x/3.x to 4.0. They have to pay their devs, testers, IT staff, employees, etc so they are losing money when providing free upgrades. It seems more of they are extending generosity under their wing to look after some of their past phones.
They do earn money, if someone buys their Sense 4.0 phones.
That's why they 'make sense' (pun intended) when they don't want to upgrade everyone to 4.0. Making the customer satisfied with the latest update ASAP has never been top priority for them.
They might lose unsatisfied customers who want the latest updates, but I surmise these are actually a very small minority. XDA and other online android communities in reality, I am guessing the total members might make up less than 6-10% (maybe even 3-6% if I daresay) of the real-world android owners population. It would take some statistics to find the actual amount and we have to remove people who have duplicate phones.
It's all politics and marketing in the end.
