I have been playing with making something similar to the Google weather posted above. I just dont see how I can add hi/lo for anything past tomorrows forcast. How can I had hi/lo for 5 days? Also, how to add what day of the week it is to each icon?

Thanks

Hello dmoses, I'm the ZW dev, be sure you are using YR.NO or OWM as weather providers, Yahoo does not support 5 days forecast. For the day you can use the #WxDEEEE# variable where "x" is the day, so #W1DEEEE# will show long day name for tomorrow, full date reference is on the zooper.org website (whcih is currently unavailable due to a DOS attack on dreamhost) or inside the widget itself when you use "edit current" on text/richtext items.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. I think I figured it out. Downloaded someone's 4 day forecast and added the 5th day and rearranged everything.

Still new to zooper, not sure how to export and share but as soon as I do I will post this status bar and weather widget.

Looking forward to the update to be able to use images for themes.

Also would like to beta test if you need anyone else.

Thanks

Just had a quick play with the update .... now has bitmap option ... nice

That's awesome.

Didn't even realize there was an update until I read your post. Just what I was wanting.

Here's a couple I made today playing with this. I'm a noob to Zooper Widget but it's pretty cool so far.

Status Bar

Ext Weather HTC

What I would really like to do with the status bar is have the WiFi icon appear where the Signal bars are when WiFi is active. For instance if I am at home and have data disabled and wifi enabled, the icons would switch from signal bars to wifi bars. I have no programming skills so if it is possible to make that work in the config file hopefully someone will tweak and share.

The only way I could think of making it work would be having a variable that was checking data connection state and displaying a blank icon if data was disabled.

The WiFi icon disappears when wifi is off and the Alarm icon disappears when alarm is off.

You can do this, you need to create a custom iconset that checks if WiFi is connected and if connected will show the Wifi bars otherwise i will show the signal ones. Please check the config.xml syntax here: http://zooper.org/wp/android/zw/iconsets you can start using the ones you are already using.

WARNING when you use signal info in zooper widget the widgets are updated every time the signal changes, this might use a lot of cpu when screen is on if your signal keeps changing especially if you have a lot of widgets on screen, im working on a solution

P.S. really good home screen! awesome work!

Could you please reup the files ? I believe that at least Ext Weather HTC is corrupted. Thanks

Thanks, the file is correct now, although I don't see the theme on the tablet how it looks on your screenshot. Mainly all the weather icons don't show-up.

thanks a lot for following me up, dmoses! Icons are correctly stored in your .zw file (you see them if you open the file as a zip file) but, despite that, your suggestion made the trick. I also have other issues (java errors) but I'll fix everything. I believe this part of the app (load themes) is still buggy and the author should work on that (I'm ready to help).

A huge thank you to dmoses for his themes and for his help.

Shouldn-t be buggy, i will try to test dmoses .zw file in the weekend, thanks for reporting!

Just an FYI to those that want to help make themes for this awesome app. All I did with the Busy Body theme that I posted was take a screen shot of busy body installed on my phone. Opened that screen shot in Paint.net and cut out the peices I wanted to make the first widget and so on. Once that piece of the image was cut out I was able to use it as a template for for the rest of the widgets to create the same theme. But the best part was it took about a 1/4 of the time to finish all of it if that much.

The copy paste of different elements is absolutely awesome and saves a ton of time.

I use a rectangle as background (I like the possibility to round the angles) and I've drawn my theme on it.

Everything is OK if I keep the device in portrait orientation but if I put it in landscape the widget changes size and the rectangle doesn't cover the full extension of the theme. How can I fix it ?

Here's a shadow icon set to go with the chameleon icons. When I get home, I'll combine the two, but this way you can position the shadow.

They're just b&w, darkened, and blurred.
I used an app called photo editor (macgyver version)
which works well.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here. Basically added some images to display on my status bar widget and checking missed calls/unread sms count to display icons when I have either instead of having digits. With what I have it only shows the signal bars when missed calls or unread messages are selected.

Edit: Figured it out

I'm a newbie with Zooper (been playing with UCCW for quite a while).

Attached files for Google type weather with tasker variable for wind speed info. the tasker wind speed is extracted from my other weather api.

I originally used the config.xml (modded) for the weather icons but will have a look at the sample some kind person recently posted.

I loaded this and mine doesn't look the same. I don't see any wind speeds or directions. Do i need tasker installed to see that?

Zooper Widget from 1.80 supports Bitmap Iconsets and allows you to create your own! What it means? It means that you can create widgets with Bitmaps able to change based on ZW variables such as Battery, Weather, Location or anything else!

Important This thread is for Iconsets only, if you want to share themes and screens please use this: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2277966

So? Well, you can create a widget with the background that changes based on your location like Google Now does, or show a different image during the day and another at night, or use a bitmap when alarm is set and another when there is no alarm, you can create battery widgets, weather or even show bitmaps based on Tasker variables (and LLama soon). You can also mix all this things up in an unique icon pack with user selectable "modes".

Iconsets are basically ZIP files with an XML configuration and Bitmaps or a TTF font. You can distribute Iconsets alone (this is supported in both free and pro) storing them in the "iconsets" directory on the SD card or you can distribute a template using it, iconset will be included automatically during save.

A special thanks to Stepdragon for the help debugging this feature!

Feel free to share your own Iconsets below

I will add more iconsets examples in the future, this post will be updated.

    More iconsets

I recently discovered Zooper Widget and it is my new go to widget app along with UCCW. I really like how you can customize the extended weather forecast. I was a little sad about the lack of iconsets available though. To help fix this problem I took many of the iconsets available over in the UCCW weather thread http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1922149 and changed the zips so they will work with Zooper Widget :D

I take no credit (or responsibility) for these iconsets. I didn't create these or test them. I followed the instructions in the OP and ZW forum and unzipped the UCCW sets, changed the file names to work with ZW, deleted unneeded files, added the one needed xml file, and zipped them back together.

If you want to create your own iconset check the OP. However, I did want to point out one thing. The original example in the Iconset Example Weather: http://zooper.org/wp/archives/1155 link follows the old weather method. ZW widget originally only allowed 2 days forecast and now it allows up to 7. If you create your own start with this config.xml instead: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hbmtj8gdy3jp40f/config.xml I'm pretty new at this and it took me forever to figure out why my iconsets only went to day 2 following the example method.

OP: Feel free to pull any of these out into the OP if you want. I just hope that other people can use some of these and enjoy all the features of ZW. It's hard to see posts way down in the thread.

There should be 14 iconsets. I'm not posting all the pngs separately, but everything in this folder should be shared so everyone should be able to navigate around the dropbox folder.

But enough jabber, here are the links:

    pngs:
    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rf3sbeftzisomj0/YA06Y7KaYW

If something doesn't work with the dl links let me know. If something other than that doesn't work, I probably can't help.

First off, thanks to johnuopini for letting me beta / help out with the widget.

Here are a couple of Icon Sets and examples of them in action. The first is a HoloUI / Google Now combination. It contains custom made battery and charging icons as well as Google Now inspired weather icons.

    holopreview.png

The second is a minimal Wifi Signal strength meter. It defaults to a cell signal icon when wifi is not available, therefore it may not be the best choice for non-cellular devices. Feel free to modify it for your own uses.

    minimalpreview.png

I'm working on creating a windows app which will automate the majority of the coding for making the icon sets. I'll be working with johnuopini / frenzy and only post when he's satisfied with it. Everything I do will go through him.

I hope you enjoy my icon sets. Free to use, distribute, and modify, preferably with credit. I'll post more when I have a chance.

Here are a few screenshots of the widget in action
(please note that this is combined with a windows phone style launcher called launcher 8. Every tile other than the two largest, and the tiles which are just a single image, is a seperate zooper widget)
