Anyone come across this:

Its been going on for a while since I started flashing ICS. Three different builds by different Dev's and I get the same results Slow download speed and CRAZY fast upload speeds, with good 3G and 4G connections, I live in a metro area with tons of anteneas and towers around me. Using control Epic (Wifey's stock Epic) on same networks while running speedtest at the same time on both Epics.
I still get data, but its butt slow while stock Epic just wizzes along with Youtube, play store, Emails, whatever it is concerning data. This time around WiFi is not affected that works fine on both phones, streaming, downloading, both are equal. On on build i had reverse WiFi speeds also, but not this time.

Pp.

I have noticed the insane upload speeds. Pics uploading to FB almost instantaneously and others like that.

Sorry if this is old news, but I tried searching and must be using the wrong terms.

Does anyone else have a crash at say 25% or so battery? I mean a freeze. On battery pull, the system boots to the logo and emits a high pitch squeal.

I have to power off, charge, and reboot. But it can't slip below 25 or 30% or I get the squeal.

Thanks

yes, others, like you and me get a crash around 30%. i dont recall a sound at that time though.

Ditto on the crashing. For me, I use the facial recognition unlock. So, it crashes the minute I either try to unlock, or if I pull the battery, it will crash right after the boot animation. That usually causes the low battery sound to go into a loop, which produces the annoying high pitch beeping noise. At that point, I have to keep the phone off until its charged enough to power on w/o crashing.

Out of all the builds I've tried so far, FC18 was the first time I ran into this issue.

For those with no GPS fix, I figured it out, here's how.

After spending half a day searching everywhere I finally found a working solution to the problem some of us are having with the GPS that won't get a fix on sats.

Thanks to QBKing77's video which addresses this very problem. http://youtu.be/h_qm4He8W-w
You will have to revert back to GB and reflash FC18 ICS but it worked like a charm.
His many "how to" vids are very helpful and easy to follow for semi noobs like me.
Thanks to his vids I completely understand CWM, ODIN, flash ROM's, etc. Check him out.

Can anyone point me towards a solution to get rid of the constant notification "data roaming"(you have lost data connectivity...) My house is on a bad signal area and that notification is always on the top.m. On gingerbread roms, when you first install the ROM it will ask you if you want to ignore these notifications. This rom did too but the notification keeps appearing.
Thanks

Have been using another ROM (venum) which is very nice, but just flashed this ROM for fun and I think it is amazing so far. Definitely the best battery life over the past 2 hours that I have ever had. Good job! And thanks.
Oh, and what does everyone think.the best modem is? should I stick with fc18?

Got haptic feedback for the touch buttons, you have to go on settings < "Sounds"< "vibrate on screen tap" to get it. Kind of labeled wrong.

DOES ANYONE HAVE SOLUTION FOR notifications not making sounds?

All you have to do is get a lock on your GB ROM than when you flash this you should have a lock, should not be a deal breaker

That's what I ended up doing and it worked perfectly as stated in post # 2527.
I was just aggravated and uninformed when I made that post. All is good now. Thanks for the response.:) I'm still learning but it's becoming more and more easy to understand the more I read, read, read.
BTW, Thanks Calkulin for this amazing ROM. It's my first one and I absolutely love it.

Any reason why it dropped from like 40 to 9 percent when I booted back up

Personally I found the best speed tests when using the FC15 and FC24 but each phone is different and flashing the modems I use might not work well for your phone . Just have to play with them.

Try wipeing your battery stats in recovery then give it a full charge and use the battery calibrator.

If SetCPU, Overclock Widget, Android Overclock or QuickClock Advanced Overclock are detected, the script is ignored, so it will not affect them

Important Notes - Due to how this ROM is setup, a wipe is recommended BEFORE flashing if coming from another ROM(use FORMAT ALL attached)

You must have a custom recovery to flash this ROM

If your are updating, then nothing extra is needed during flashing as the update script wipes what is needed, unless other wise stated in the change log

Be sure to do a backup before flashing and read the change log

Bare ROM Converter (v2.1) - Must be flashed AFTER flashing the complete ROM - For a list of apps that it removes, click here

    Previous ROM versions

Modems - Zip's must be flashed through a CWM based recovery & Tar's must be flashed through the PHONE option in Odin

If you have 3G\4G connection issues, be sure to update Profile after updating by going into Settings\About phone\System updates
