sorry for this question but what is bln kernel and how to install him?

Just a noob question, but if we made an app that would make the phone think it is charging, would otg work?

well this is my 1st post here but why don't we try with any standalone power like external H.D.D drive??
but I am not sure of the result
any way I will look for any of these devices around and if any 1 tried it plz let us know

I have try external hdd 2.5(ntfs file system) DOESN'T use external power
Success with "nexus media importer" and can be mount using "USB OTG helper"

Its weird because i can do otg and another can't do

Application only read/write data
Not to help enabling otg
If you have usb/usb hub that have light indicator, it will be very help

And for me work too but where to find the flash drive a try everything but without acess the mouse work too

I tried external hdd with standalone power source and it didnt work, i guess because the power doesnt output on usb, it is just used for the drive.

didn't work with me using flash or hdd

With the trick listed above? Try pluging it in and out, sometimes it doesnt work from the first fry.

Due to specification similarities between S3 mini and the S advance, could also be a hardware compatibility which allow us to use or port s advance´s kernels with otg enabled such as omega kernel? ( http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2100582&highlight=otg )

I am using a Y usb cable + otg cable+ a usb memory stick. Only once a saw my usb stick detected by USB Host Controller. That was on stock rooted rom AMD3. After that i tried again and again and nothing. OTG doesn't work for me on BLN kernel or Dmod. Something very strage happens.

I've followed these instructions (1st answer) and got my father's S3 Mini to read USBs & irDA adapter.

Rooted Stock and I found out yesterday that a Y-cable is needed to switch from normal to Host mode when rebooting (after those files have been altered), or else the phone won't detect the USB and will boot in normal mode.
