Just switched from the cm9 and I dig it a lot. Any way to disable capacitive buttons since I'm using nav bar?

Go through the options in ROM control - also check Device Settings, Sensors tab and make sure the backlight box is unchecked.

IDK why its so hard for people to look for the fix. My lights are now working 100% after the fix posted by Tyler.

If I understand correctly, draztikrhymez is asking if there's a way to make the capacitive buttons totally useless. He is not asking how to turn off the lights. If so, I haven't heard/read of a way that can't totally disable the capacitive buttons area. If you, draztikrhymez, were actually asking how to turn off the lights, then I am making a fool of myself.

I don't think it's been updated lately - there are a LOT of apps that don't handle the AOSP setup well yet (TiBu for one, I've heard they're working on an update...)
Yup, I got a patch to test from them. But didn't get a chance to test it. Before I could test it, I switched back to UnOriginal. I might get chance to test it out this weekend.

I did search and found a few things that were related to external sd but not quite what I was looking for. One thing I just noticed...this is the first time I've connected my phone to the PC since I've installed an ICS rom, and I know that I have to use MTP, but when I open the MTP on my PC I see my internal storage and external card, but when I go to view my external card on my PC I can see the LOST.dir folder but nothing else. And I have my DCIM folder and nandroid folder on there. I formatted my card and then put these files on there...why can't I see them?

Search on drivers in the thread - I think getting up to date should fix that. But I would DEFINITELY pull the card and back it up (and back up the internal card too) before playing - qwerty lost a bunch of stuff when things got weird from the internal card and I'm paranoid for everybody now :)

I did have to reformat the external card on my way to ICS at some point too...

Yeah, you were right on the buttons - Red posted something just above yours on a disable. I don't want to give up the screen real estate yet...

And I knew it was you had the TiBu patch, but I was protecting your privacy :) - maybe you could pass it to somebody here to try?

Thanks but I mean so they don't work period. I got the backlight off but you can still hit em
I misread what you wanted. You want to completely render the capacitive lights useless... like if they werent there. Um, let me go look if this is even possible. BRB...

Edit: I dont see that option. My guess is that PG posted a link that AOKP build #30 will have some navbar enhancements. Perhaps they will also give us the option to turn off the capacitive buttons.

You are correct I'm trying to disable them completely not just the light

Hi'ya.

I have a Galaxy Nexus, and my girlfriend is getting a Galaxy S2. I would like to think I'm quite knowledgeable when it comes to rooting and ADB and such--however, I've NEVER heard of the incremental counter Samsung implemented into the S2. From my understanding, you flash a stock kernel and use a little ADB--and then you don't have to worry about the counter. However, the post I read (http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=18576627&postcount=1) (Step 4) warns not to flash non-stock kernels.

My girlfriend plans on rooting her phone, and I'd like to install this on it. However, will your kernel mess that up?

Start with the sticky at the top of the General section - if you read it through, you can root and then install anything you like without incrementing the counter or ever seeing the triangle.

This kernel won't break it.
Just make sure your on an ICS based rom. I've used it on AOKP & CM9 without any errors.

I did format the card prior to all this. I saw what happened to QWERTY and I backed everything up. How its not that my files aren't readable, its just that I can't see them on my PC. Oh well I hardly ever use my external card and its just one of those things that make me feel better knowing they work.

When you connect to the PC, do you see two separate drives (like GB) or one that says SGH-I777? With this rom, I get the second, and see everything fine in both. If you don't, I'll go drivers again - if you do, then, umm, weird. I'll look more.

EDIT: if this piles in with my other posts - there are open entries in the AOKP about this, with not updates indicating information. So yeah, it's there for some people - and it's been reported. You could add an entry on the AOKP project site to get a vote in (and maybe get updates? I dunno). Latest entry I saw there was 3/28...

I see the second as well. Then when I open the "portable media player" I see the 2 drives(internal & external). It also shows drive size and available space. I can see all my files fine in my internal sdcard but can only see my LOST.dir on my external, even though it says that I have 2.37gb of data on the card(which is exactly what root explorer says) so I'm gonna try drivers tomorrow morning...I just adopted a 2 month old kitten today and she is being a handful.

1.) If ANYONE asks a question that's been answered in the FAQ or OP, DO NOT RESPOND TO THEIR POST. (It should hopefully force them to search)

2.) If ANYONE trolls this thread. DO NOT RESPOND. Me and Red5 will take care of it. (Leaves less cleanup for Red5 and we keep a clean thread)

3.) Leave personal opinions of each other out of this thread or do that stuff via PM.

4.) Have fun in this thread. As most of you know I like to joke around and keep things light. Not everything can be development related. It takes the fun out of these forums.

If we can all just do these simple things I'm sure this thread will get back to where in needs to be. More people including myself will actually like coming into this thread.

Great auto brighness settings (custom backlight settings):
***** Make sure your Exynos Sensor is set to "Open Source" in xxTweaker General section *****
*****WARNING: If you apply the setting before adding ALL the values, you'll have to do a full wipe. *****

To set the minimum value to something lower than 20, set the "Screen Dim Level" to the lowest value that you want. I would not go below 12 though!
Here is a flashable zip that will set all these values:

    Re: [Rom] AOKP(Jellybean 4.2.2) | Task650 (3.13.13) AT&T

So the sgs2 took quite the beating today (or maybe last night). Considering its been my back pocket phone these last couple weeks while I've been testing these releases it must've fell out of my pocket last night or this morning in my parking garage. Looks like I ran over it. Not only once, but twice. It has been sitting in a puddle on top of all that. Looks like it put up a pretty good fight though. lol. It was a pleasure having it. But nothing is going to bring this thing back to life. Looks like I might be done here guys. I can't even begin to try and justify to my fiance why I would be spending our money on an old device when I already have purchased 3 new ones in the last 4 months. She would eat me alive. lol. It was a pleasure. :D

Not happening. This is where it all started for me and can't watch it end now. :D
