That looks great, thanks! I understand you want to make a big stable update, I'm sorry if it seemed like I was trying to rush you. BTW, I really enjoy these detailed reports, you could post it in the first page post if you want to, it gives a better idea of the progress you've made. Thanks for the awesome ROM, Marcell :D

What's the actual status of CM7 since alpha6 :
- FMRadio is working fine
- BT is partially working (pairing ok, filetransfer not fully working, A2DP not working). I'm not satisfied ... and need to work more on it. I bought a BT headset specially for that.
- AUDIO recording is still not fixed
- USB tethering is not working
- Wifi AP not working (but a workaround exist)
- BLN is working fine - need to check if it prevents phone to go in deepsleep state.
- UMS is working fine
- ADW launcher is OK (no severe lags - very smooth at 800mhz)
- Overall performance is good : score > 700 in Quadrant.
- Camera preview is still B/W
- No more white textures in Quadrant and probably some games too
- Still no hardware codecs (mfc)

If Alpha7 should be released with this status, some work must be done :

Kernel :
- clean initramfs
- fix battery draining
- fix undervolting

Android :
- Fix CRT on/off anim

Tasklist (to be done)
- use Android socket for Wifi
- Fix camera preview
- Fix BT A2DP + BT Filetransfer from phone to PC
- Audio recording
- Hardware codecs
You work is making me dreaming. Very very ......very very good job man.
Thx a lot :)

i hope we'll have a first beta or RC for christmas ;)

only if you were a very very very nice boy this year.
seriously, beta means all hardware is working fine... things like hardware codecs will be very hard to do and will take time.

unless some devs are willing to contribute.

I'd love to help you out marcell, I'm just so busy lately and I can't even get it to build. It just says it can't find stuff.

And please tell us what you changed to make the sound stuttering/issue 4 I believe it was on the bug tracker go away. Maybe it could be integrated into the g3mod to fix the sound problems some users are experiencing (hillbeast seems to have a phone without this issue it seems, so it's a weird bug...)

Well I just don't have CM7, but when I was using it I had no sound stuttering.

if I remember, I switched ioscheduler to cfq.

also, I set KERNEL_HZ to 250...

Benjamin, are you on Non-OC or OC? If you're on Non-OC then that would be why: 256Hz. We might need to switch Non-OC to 250Hz. The only reason we're on 256 is because Samsung are mental and chose that.

I'm using the OC version. I also noticed that governors only change the way the problem exists but don't remove it. Even with 1200MHz and performance I get those problems.

Awesome work marcellusbe!! I think we'll have to make up a new adjective to describe the work you're doing for G3 :p

    Hello,

This thread is here to let you know how is the port of CyanogenMod 7 and to discuss about it.

Actually, the CM7 port is in alpha stage, until all the hardware is working. The ROM is very stable and can be used everyday, but you could miss some features that are not yet (fully) working like bluetooth.

    Main rules :
There is no ETA so, please, don't ask.

    What is working :

    - FM radio (27/10/2011 - alpha7)

    @Everyone :

I have got many PM's regarding the state of this thread and i believe Marcel would have got more than me ......thats why i am sharing the Info.

Marcel have got the job he desired and currently have to move to CANADA......so it will probably take 1-2 Weeks.....

after that he should first get settled in there and should build up the development environment again.......

So till then i guess everyone should have patience.

Not 1-2 weeks but 3-4 months... but you know, it's not easy to immigrate in a new country so I'm very busy to prepare my family and myself for the move.

Thanks for your support and patience.

    Some news about Alpha9 :
    - Camera : you can now use a barcode reader or any app that requires camera. It should work.
    - Video recording is working with some restrictions : not using hardware codec but software. Audio is not recorded but may be fixed soon.
