Performance and ram consumption really has to improve. It isn't even smooth on he nexus 7 2013

Well, let's see, the Nexus 7 has 2GB of RAM, so 20mb of RAM is 1% and 40mb is 2%. I guarantee you Switchr won't take up more than 3% of your RAM, ever. Maybe not even 2%. In that case, its great. But from experience the 2013 Nexus 7 does lag more than the old Nexus 7, and I have no clue why. Sorry about that. As devices get better and better, Switchr will get smoother and smoother.

I would love to see a blacklist implemented (turn off Switcher's input area when a particular app is active). On some applications (e.g. games that utilize the full screen, including edges) I would prefer not to lose app functionality due to Switchr, nor would I like to inadvertently switch tasks at inopportune moments... Otherwise, this is one AMAZING task switcher! As has been said by other, this is an instabuy when that time comes.

Working on it! Expect this after release. Totally doable, as my other app Roundr does this. Just a matter of copying and pasting some code.

Thanks!

So cool! I always have ideas like this. I'm just going to start emailing them to you and having you build them for me. Lol.

Haha no promises.

Can you make Switchr load from the bottom?

I really want to Swipe Up from the bottom of the screen.
That way it is an "opposite action" to the Notification shade.
Better yet if the up swipe can be triggered from the On-Screen buttons.

Cheers MAG

This one's a hard feature to implement as it requires reprogramming the entire structure of the app.

But doable nonetheless. We'll see. Thanks for the great suggestions!

Alt-tab function

I was just playing with the app and it's pretty awesome.

Suggestion:
Is there a quick way to specifically have an alt-tab like function (back to only the last recent app) vs having to select the last app manually from the list?

Solutions:
1) Perhaps have the previous app default to be first in the list right after a swipe. Then a quick, short swipe will always default to the alt tab function and longer swipes can select other apps. Right now the first app in after a swipe defaults to the current app which logically should be last on the list IMO
2) Seperate pad specifically for this function?
3) Change the original recent app button to have a double tap for alt-tab function. Not sure if that is even possible.

I've been able to get the alt-tab function by setting the recent apps to use only 2. However, it would be great if alt-tab like functionality is somehow worked in.

Great work. Can't wait to see what the final product looks like.

Thanks! Try switching to Switchr Slide (Settings -> "Switchr" tab -> Style). That one shows you the last app on first swipe :)

In general the n7 2013 doesn't almost lag at all. The old one lags way more. Maybe your experience only is for the app but definitely not overall. At least my n7 2013 with custom Rom runs super smooth

This is a genius idea! ;) Just few suggestions:
- Ability decrease icon size
- Remove persistent Notification.

Much appreciated!

Between this, side bar and sliding messaging I am having side swiping over load suddenly!

Updated the previous post with Beta 5!

Great improvements have been made in terms of how live switching and killing apps function together and not interfere with each other. It was a very tough problem to tackle, but I'm trying my best to patch everything up one by one.

    Thanks for testing!

Edit: Updated to 6. Release candidate should land tomorrow with full GB/Froyo/Eclair support.
