1st JellyBean Rom for the Htc Incredible S

Note : Its a ported build based on BlindnDumb's BlindBEAN v1.5 - Preview Edition VI | AOKP JellyBean

Special thanks to blindndumb for giving me the permission to port !!

Bugs :

- Tethering FC's (Try Barnacle wifi tether from playstore * it works )
- Camera - Front Only Force Closes ( If you try and are not able to revert back follow these steps )

1.Go to Settings
2.Go to Apps
3.Search for System Apps
4.Go to Gallery
5.Clear data

-Video Recorder
-FC on Launcher after switching a few times from portrait to landscape and back. ( Happens Sometimes )
Video playback issues try turn off HW overlay

Flashing Instructions :

1.Enter recovery
2.Wipe data/factory reset
3.Wipe cache / dalvik cache
4.format system
5.Install zip from sd card and choose my rom

    for those with video playback issues try turn off HW overlay in developer settings. seen it on a cm10 thread over in desire s as a temporary fix.

    The screen candy toggle is the " Swagger "

    Its just for fun that toggle :)

    just put them in folders Music , Pictures etc :)

    So take it with a grain of salt.
    MOST OF THE BUGS THERE ARE ALSO APPEAR HERE SO HERE IS MY FINDINGS THUS FAR:


    DO NOT QUOTE WHOLE POST
    I'm getting tired of reading bug reports that have already been reported.
    So i combed through all the pages and collated all the bugs (and some fixes) and put them in this post.

    Also note guys, Nik is doing this for free so please give him thanks, be POLITE and donate if you feel obliged.

    ALSO PLEASE KEEP POSTS ON TOPIC, GENERAL QUESTION PLEASE POST IN THE GENERAL SECTION NOT HERE!


    NOTE: Before reporting an issue make sure you have:
    • DONE FULL WIPE
    • FLASHED GAPPS
    • When reporting battery life do not report unless you have had 2 FULL discharge/recharge cycles.

    DO NOT POST A BUG WITHOUT READING THIS FIRST,
    If you post a bug already listed in this, i will laugh at you.

    Issues Thus far:

    Notification light:
    • No light for charging
    • Wrong colour for notifications (orange not green)

    Call volume is very low or non-existent
    • Work around, use head-phones or loud speaker



    Camera is buggy, the kernel has been hacked around to work with it, it is NOT perfect.
    • There is no touch to focus, needs sense framework
    • Video recording does not work
    • Front camera does not work.
    • If you try to use the front camera you broke it, full wipe and reflash
    or
    • 1. Go to Settings
      2. Go to Apps
      3. Go to the ALL tab
      4. Go to Gallery
      5. Clear data
      5.a Restart

    Back lights are buggy we all know.
    • If screen brightness is set to 5% or lower they will not work.
    • Buttons can turn off after 5 seconds of inactivity. This is a jellybean feature
    • On reboot back lights may not turn on, you can activate them by adjusting your brightness through settings. (this may not work)
    • You can try to reboot again to fix

    MMS does not work (for some carriers)
    • Works if connected to Wi-Fi (for some carriers)
    • Re-enter your APN settings manually may fix issue

    Data sometimes won’t activate when enabled
    • Re-enter your APN settings manually may fix issue


    Wi-Fi is buggy for some
    • Go to Wi-Fi settings, menu button> advanced, there is an option enabled by default saying that any low range Wi-Fi will be disconnected automatically. Disable this and it MAY fix your issues
    • You can also try to set router to wireless g only.

    Radio Strength in general is lower and slower
    • Possibly related to kernel

    Default AOSP Keyboard becomes default for no reason (The standard keyboard that comes with this rom, SOMETIMES sets itself back to default if you've set another keyboard to be the default keyboard)
    • Also as far as i have read. The laggyness could be due to the kernel.

    Swift key gestures (eg, backward swipe for delete) sometimes don’t work double tap the menu button to fix.


    YouTube/Video playback reboots phone

    • This could be due to flash
    • Possible temp fix, go to settings > developer options > Disable HW overlays

    Other Camera apps may not work
    • Apps that use their own camera may not work
    • Will take picture (maybe) but can’t see through view finder.

    Google now/voice dictation is slow to open and seems that input volume is low
    • You may need to shout.

    Apollo music player doesn't find any mp3's
    • Reboot may fix this
    • Possible fix, delete the .nomedia file (and other “hidden files”) from /sdcard/ and-or /data/

    Gallery is buggy
    • Has some back scrolling issues.
    • Possible fix for the Gallery
    1. Delete the .nomedia file (and other “hidden files”) from /sdcard/ and-or /data/
    2. Wipe Media Storage Data (Settings>Apps>Media Storage)
    3. Reboot.
    • If all else fails try formatting memory card and re-adding music and pictures back. Backup! Backup! Backup!

    Face-unlock does not work (for some)

    After using the camera, brightness won't revert back to original state, it stays bright
    This also happens in ICS roms not just JB roms
    • Need to manually reset brightness.
    • Or close camera from “recent apps” menu

    Ability to change the volume even when the phone is locked
    • Possibly just a feature that comes with sense
    • Can changed when locked with apollo

    Text looks "corrupt/fuzzy"

    • To fix fuzzy text force stop the launcher.
      1. Go to Settings
      2. Go to Apps
      3. Go to the ALL tab
      4. Go to Your launcher (default is Trebuchet)
      5. Force Stop
    • Can also try System UI
    • If its an app. Force stop the app.
    • or restart phone

    Anything specific to HTC roms (widgets/apps) will not work with this rom, they need sense framework.
