Thought to share this:

Yesterday I received one update to the Microsoft Office 365 on my Galaxy S4.
And this morning I found out that Office 365 on Android as become subscription free for all home users since the update.
[emoji2]That is great news for many users that can't afford the expensive subscription.

I have also read that Microsoft have released Office 365 for ipad.
[emoji37]But they forgot about us, the Android Tablet users.

I decided to try it one more time and I pulled the apk out from my Galaxy S4 and side loaded it on my Samsung Tab 3 8.0 (SM-T310) just as a test, and...
[emoji12] it works like a charm!

Thank you Microsoft.

[emoji41]I hope this news is of any use for anyone in here, in the same way it was for me.

[emoji39]No worries.
Despite that I unsuccessfully tried to make Office365 to work on my tab 3 before.

ps:
[emoji33]It might not last for long, since some clever idiotic people decided to post on Microsoft forums about downloading the app from 3rd party app stores and successfully installing it on unsupported devices.

How will I get a Office 365 apk? I do not have access to a phone.

Sent from my stock, untouched Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 on the xda-developers app

The version you uploaded still said that you need to have 365 subscription for the app to work.
However, the current version (15.0.2720.2000, dated March 27, 2014) in Google Play allows signing-up of a FREE account for the app to work.

The crevice here is that the above app is 'not compatible' with tablets according to Play, and so you cannot install it directly on a GT3. Install, I needed to install the app on my phone, and that go to /data/app and copy the .apk to my tablet. After that, the app installs and runs well on the Galaxy tab 3.

? Link updated.

I didn't noticed that the old link was not good,
But remember that you need to have a Microsoft email account to log in the app
