if there wrote can...u should to try!
mine is CAN'T..and that why i got hard bricked...
so this is my advice..

if your phone still under warranty, just try it! if bricked they (SE) can fix it for free even change the main board..I tell u the true!
but the matter is if u got bricked U HAVE TO WAIT, maybe 2 weeks or more

It depends only on your knowledge you have about your device. You must know if you bought it with SIM Unlocked already or it was sim unlocked by some feature like omnius. Another point is that you should know the basics of installing the right drivers and such things to get things working :D.
I´ve unlocked my bootloader as "the_laser" user provided the first release of feature for it without problem. One simple advice is to not try to stop the process after you started it to avoid the hard brick of your device.

this is probably the noobiest question but if i check with s1tool i wont affect my phone will i?
EDIT: i checked it doesnt do anything ok...ummm..my phone is safe to be bootloader unlocked but i have to flash the original rom first right? and if i manage to brick my phone will a restore from pc companion work? if network doesnt work what should i do? sorry for all the questions but i need to be safe about my phone since i am not getting a new one anytime soon.

The network always work,i bricked my phone so many times,always pcc fix it,i used flashtool but sometimes it is not good as pcc...Just like your question "IF" network doesn't work,try the flashtool then flash the stock rom,check the baseband if not 015 the last digit find a baseband with 015 because mostly of rom here compatible with the latest baseband 015...

thanks to this guide i have an unlocked bootloader.....still gonna stick with stock kernel though..

Hi, I have unlocked my x8 bootloader right now, it works perfectly following the guide. I know that I lost the warranty now lol but if I lock the bootloader now, it's like I've never done anything right? Like I have warranty again? Sorry my bad english.

ok you can try it but as soon as you rooted you voided your warranty(AFAIK). so if you want to revert back to original state update with SEUS. it will download about 120MB and flash it to your phone. then SE can never find out you rooted or unlocked bootloader. but be careful do not relock while on custom kernel you will brick permanently as has been mentioned before.:eek::eek::mad::mad:

Hi, my phone has semc simlock certificate, so is it safety no?

my phone is bought from movistar so it hasnt free sim, so can i use calls and sms normally?, and my pin will be the same no?

Sorry for the noob questions but it a dangerous process and i dont want to brick my phone xD

Need some help here.
I shut down the phone, click "Identify" in s1tool, connect phone in flash mode and after a minute I get this:

After that it just shows the battery image (offline charging).

EDIT: Never mind, I solved that.
First killed the adb server then opened the s1tool as admin. Not really sure which one did it.

If you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7 with User Account Control enabled then you NEED to run s1tool as Administrator.

So, "s1tool as admin" did the trick ;)

Ughhhh, I'm having another problem. So I successfully unlocked the bootloader (lower case "r" appeared) and now i'm having no signal!!! However, s1tool showed this "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" not the not recognized one. What do I do?

You need to flash the stock kernel back if u already flash custom kernel if that cause no signal,then flash back any custom kernel that u like :D

    Here we go,

    Step 0: (Must Follow)
    A)I am not Responsible if it BRICK YOUR PHONE!!!!:eek:
    B)Still intressted??:p
    C)U MUST ON STOCK ROM (ORIGINAL ROM FROM SE)
    D) Check Manufactoring date/code (behind batery)
    11W29 above U better stay away and stop dreamming (i got 4 times hard bricked on 11W38)
    11W28 below U can proceed and again I am not Responsible if it BRICK YOUR PHONE!!!!:eek:


    Step 1: (Downloads)
    A) READ THIS OR U will cry if you skip to read this
    B) Download S1tool [UPDATED 13 FEB 2012]
    C) Download Unlocker [UPDATED 13 FEB 2012]

    Step 2: (Prepare)

    A) Unzip all downloaded files
    B) Shut Down Phone
    C) Open S1tool, Click on DO JOB, Press Back on phone, Connect it to PC.
    D) Look For Line "XXXX SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE"

    Step 3: (Unlock)

    A) Turn the phone on, Connect it with PC in Debugging mode.
    B) if XXXX is "NOT RECOGNIZED" then sorry, it can't be unlocked.
    C) if XXXX is SEMC then run "msm7227_semc.cmd"
    D) if "XXXX SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" was not found then run "msm7227_Setool2.cmd"
    E) Wait...
    F) if "Press any key to continue . . ." is found, press any key.

    Step 4: (Verify)

    A) Shut Down Phone
    B) Open S1tool, Click on DO JOB, Press Back on phone, Connect it to PC.
    C) Look For Line RUNNING S1_EROM VER "x8A029"
    D) if x is "r" then it is done, Congrats...
    E) if x is "R" then Sorry, Do everything again. or Search in the Frorum for Help

    And here to relocking bootloader with easiest step
    Shared and prepaired by Black Xperia X8

    This is tutorial how to relock bootloader!

    1.Step: i-Download S1Tool and ii-Download Flashtool
    2.Step:Install FlashTool and Gordon Gate Driver
    3.Step: Extract rar with 7zip,Winrar...
    4.Step: Disable antivirus and firewall because it can interrupt process
    5.Step: Open folder where you extract it
    6.Step: Run S1Tool.exe
    7.Step: Enable USB Debug and plug USB in PC and Phone
    8.Step: Klick restore button
    9.Step: Unplug your phone and turn it off
    10.Step: Hold back key and plug USB in phone
    11.Step: Unplug device and klick identify
    12.Step: Hold back key and plug usb last number need to be 28
    not 29 if is 28 then you relocked your bootloader or a litle r
