Firmware Update - Legend HTC WWE 2.03.405.3

What am i doing wrong??
I did the goldcard, I open the update, it finds my phone and goes it to reboot mode, then it just stays as waiting for bootloader, which stays for about 2 mins ... then it comes up as error please check USB is in phone and PC and that's it!
Also when it says connect your phone I do that, now it comes up with all 4 options, charge only, HTC Sync, Driver method andsomething else, what do I click on now? coz it will just load HTC Sync if left on for about 10 secs

My Legend, which I bought sim-free / network-free / unbranded does not tell me I'm due for upgrade, therefore I'm still running 1.31.405.5
Surely if it's a genuine HTC update [which it is], why is it not an OTA update?

It's available OTA? I got my Legend in Canada from Bell/Futureshop, but I use it on Rogers... Would I still get notified for the OTA update? Or do I need to put in a Bell simcard?
most probably it is still not available in your country / region. we still dont have the updates in asia as well..
