awesome find! i have some rejuvenation because of this kernel finding. but sadly...the dev isnt going to be really making nightlies anymore. i wish i could port over flinny's ROM for all of you, but he never responds to any of my requests. if he could say yes, i could port over cm10.1. but without his permission, i am stuck...

Have you tried porting over cm 10.1 just for personal use? It's a *****

Is it really that difficult? I thought it would be the same as cm10...

I got systemUI fcs using the 4.2 apk, I'll have to give the glacier apk a shot but I didn't bother because of the issue that cnote just mentioned

I got it to port over with no force closes but there is no sound output at all ringtones, dial tone or otherwise.

Sorry for the double post but why don't you try using systemUI from randomblames train wreck rom?

I changed no apks or system files so system ui is from the the desire s or desire HD.

i am pretty much finished with this ROM. you all should go for the 4.2.1 cm rom by cnote. it's up to date, and has a lot more to offer :)

Sleep mode

Everything runs for the most part perfectly, except when my phone is in sleep mode the backlight flashes at random intervals and does not stop any suggestions?

So after flashing all jb ROMs we have at the moment, this ROM has been what I found to be the most bug free and stable. If you are looking for a ROM to be a dd without issues and don't care about the latest and greatest then this is it.

I have come up with a track pad wake that works with this rom which makes it that much better than it was.

I also would revise the installation instructions as follows:

1) flash latest version of ROM
2) flash oldest version of gapps for JB
3) flash all in 1 fix.zip http://d-h.st/hmU
4)boot into ROM set up let it sit whatever
5) get camera jb+ app from play store or however (for recording select camcorder mode> settings> audio quality> set to 44.1khz, no need for video cam illusion in OP)

Tip: don't change any option that has to with status bar. It causes the status bar to become unstable and soft fc. (ie: don't change battery icon, clock, signal icons)

all in 1.zip flash able zip flashes coderz 3.0.61, low mic fix, and track pad wake. The 3.0.5x kernel has heat up while using headphones during calls (or music?)

I present to you a Jellybean ROM port! i know cnote has already released one, but the more variety the better? perhaps...we shall see

first off, i would like to thank:
-nk111: for letting me use his ROM to port. link here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1776256
    -elginsk8r: for the kernel. awesome!
-aaraya1516: for his never ending help in compiling the kernel and files for me. thank you!!
-Cnote: for letting me use his ROM as a base
-Synthetic.nightmare: for his kernel, and for still teaching me things. what a good teacher/dev :D
-ckisgen: for helping me fix an important bug regarding SD card
    -the other devs
    -the xda peeps here :)

    onto the ROM

Here are some screenshots! Give thanks to this user: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=29135158&postcount=125

    what works:
    -camera!! yes, it works
-CM stuff, like weather on lockscreen, a power menu that can reboot, go into recovery, etc.
-thats all i know for now. the rest is the basic stuff, like wifi, bluetooth, etc.

    what doesnt work:
-i am not too sure myself, so if anyone wants to keep looking for stuff, please do and inform us so i can put it under here
-heat issues because of the kernel. With pretty much anything that requires audio and having headphones inserted will cause the phone to heat up

    Instructions:
    1. wipe all /system, /cache/ dalvik-cache, and /data
    2. flash ROM
    3. flash gapps
    4. flash LowMicFix.zip (so Google Now and other apps can recognize voice better. mic is too soft)

    if updating:
    1. just flash it without wiping system, data, etc.
    2. flash gapps
    3. flash LowMicFix.zip

    link to ROM: http://d-h.st/users/chickenfactory/?fld_id=4125#files - 12-06-2012 (latest)
    extras: http://d-h.st/users/chickenfactory/?fld_id=4121#files
    link to gapps: http://goo.im
kernels that work with this ROM: http://d-h.st/users/chickenfactory/?fld_id=4798#files

here are the changes for the latest build:
    • synced up to cm repo as of 12/06

Removing the debug.composition.type=c2d line from the build.prop fixed the graphic glitches when unlocking the phone

    tips:
    • if you want to record video, download videocam illusion. go into the settings, and change the audio frequency from 48kHz to 44.1kHz. there ya go, recording!
    • dont want a green line on your 5mp pics? check out Camera JB+ on the play store (or if you can find it elsewhere ;)). it works fine for me
    • full wiping from time to time may help in the lagginess of the ROM. this one is up to the user
    • a cache and dalvik cache wipe may be effective. also, fix permissions. that can be helpful as well

    Thanks

A big thank you for your contributions to our community, have fun on the new device...

I will still be tinkering with the mt4g, so if somebody is going to pick up where you left off let me know, I'll be glad to help in any way I can...

just to let you all know, i will be ending this and all my ports soon. i bought a nexus 4, and when that arrives, i wont be doing much on the mt4g boards. it was very fun porting ROMs, and i did have some headaches while doing so, but it still was fun.

thank you all for all the support you have shown and given to me. i appreciate you all, and hopefully the remaining mt4g users can still survive here on xda...or buy better phones lol. anyways, take care! :D
