Hello, I have Dhiru's CM9 and I noticed that it really drains my battery. Are there any more capable batteries out there (or any other less demanding ICS/JB ROM, for that matter)?

Install:
Android Assistant and configure the 2 auto clean options under settings.

Install:
MinFreeManager

Set it to agresssive. (May cause some force closes)
So far works great for me.

Extras:
Try to install:
Xposed and greenify.

Q

Hello,

1. my camera app is crashing, when I turn it on.
I'm using nameless-4.4.3-20140615-galaxysl-WEEKLY but happens in every nameless rom.

how can I repair it?
Is it the only way to change the stock one?

does anyone have the working camera stock app?

2. When I try to plug in my car charger, the phone doesn't charge.
I need to reboot the phone, then it is charging?

does anyone know what to do?

thaks in advance.

Greetings;

For now i would suggest you to
Perform a clean install and flash stock firmware (you can find it on sammobile website - requires registration).

Clean Install Step by Step:

1) Remove SD Card
2) Reboot your device in CWM Recovery Mode.

(If CWM is not there; flash CF-Root)

Select: "Advanced" and Erase Dalvik Cache.

Go back and Select: "Mounts and Storage"
And Format:
- Data
- System
- Boot
- Cache

After that Power Off your device and boot into download mode.
Open Odin; plug the USB Cable; select the firmware file under "PIT"

Press start; and wait untill Odin says "Pass".

Note that 1st boot takes longer.
Also do not remove the cable utill Odin says "Pass"

Let me know how it went.

The charging issue on the car charger may be due to a broken pin or incompatible charger.

Greetings.

It is possible to format and resize manually. I just dont know how it would work on Samsung.

Although it seems you have installed a custom rom (wich can resize partitions) or you have flashed the wrong file with wrong size.

In this case you should try:

1) Download Stock firmware from Sammobile.

2) Use Odin to Flash it.

The partition will resize into its previous size.

Then install CWM; Prepare the device for a clean install and install your favourite rom.

Press Thank button if it helped you.

I couldt see the pic and didn't understand what's exactly the problem.
But if the issue is the file is easy to solve.

Assuming you Extracted your files to a folder...
Inside the folder you have about 5/6 files (more or less)
I.e: Modem; PDA; CSC; PIT etc.

So using process of exclusion, just take note of what files you have inside the folder and compare with the ones loaded into Odin and see wich file was not loaded.
Then load the file left in the last missing file to load.

You may also post the filename and the last missing part (in Odin) here before you flash. So we can see if you're going in the right direction.

--- --- ---

Besides that all the files (at least the ones I have) are identified except 1.
That will cross with the last 2 load buttons (in Odin) on the bottom.
If im not mistaken: Modem and CSC

--- --- ---

If you're experiencing a boot loop or a stop at boot.

Follow the instructions on how to install cwm (if you haven't flashed it yet); then clean caches and perform a soft reset.

This is what I do in those situations, and usually works 80% of times

Hit thanks if it helped you.

can't install any ROM....!!

hey, i am new to android. Just got an old Samsung galaxy sl gt-i9003. it has never been rooted. i tried rooting it using odin and the cf root file by LoLaTiOn for DDMF1 firmware. Did everything correctly and when it came to install zip from sd card, it gave an error after i selected the zip file. the error says- can't open E:/(name_of_the_ROM).zip (bad). I thought the problem might be with the zip file. but i tried a lot of ROMs like CM11 and Nameless but still the same error. please help me. i can't figure out what is the problem. :confuse: how can i install the ROM properly without any error?.

CF-ROOT file i used by LoLaTiOn: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=43016372&postcount=30

How to run odin on Windows 8.1?

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. I installed Samsung drivers and Kies too. But odin doesn't recognise my phone. Any suggestions?

I am currently on DDKP2 and i root it by flashing cf-root
after rooting i can see the three softwares were installed
    cwm,superuser,tweaks
so now can i able to flash themes (ICS theme universal) without flashing cwm??

    to flash the theme
    -you must be deodexed
-to deodex go to this link
    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1323661
    -download deodex_ddkp2_cwm.zip
-put it in your sd card
-go to recovery(either by going to cwm app n select reboot into recovery or power off the device and press vol up+home key+power key)
-select install from zip (using volume keys and menu key)
-choose install zip from sd card
    -select the deodex_ddkp2_cwm.zip theme zip
-it will ask for confirmation press yes
-select wipe cache and select yes
-download the theme file(it will be a zip file)
-put the zip file in the sd card
-go to recovery(either by going to cwm app n select reboot into recovery or power off the device and press vol up+home key+power key)
-select install from zip (using volume keys and menu key)
    -choose zip from sd card
    -select the ics theme zip
-it will ask for confirmation press yes
-go back and select wipe cache
    -press yes and reboot

and you are done(same procedure for all themes)

I have some Noobish questions :

    1. Nandroid Backup
Is it the same with/what people mean with the menu "Backup/Restore" in CWM?

    2. CWM
Will I got CWM if I installed Skin's CFRoot, is the CWM included inside the CFRoot? Especially CWM for XXKPM.

    3. Ext4
How to install Ext4 partition format? How do I get the zip file (if there's any zip file)?

    4. XXKPE
Why should I flash Gingerbread ROM with preceded with xxkpe then proceeded with either xxkph or xxkpm? I think it's because the GB ROM's file is just PDA, then why don't the other ROM have the Bootloader, PDA, Phone, CSC file completely like xxkpe?

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Find in the forum. You will get a thread related to it.
    4. Actually kpe firmware contains all 4 files which is normally included in any firmware. We always need modem, bootloader files for flashing which lacks in newer firmwares i.e. kph, kpm. So we need kpe as a base.
    2
firstly before flashing another firmware i want to backup all data
can you tell me the procedure of backup and restore?

Use titanium backup to batch backup all your apps. After that, if u want to backup contacts and SMS, search the market. Then restore after flashing. Make sure you select the backup folder to the external SD card.

    Cheers:)

Download archive for your firmware. Extract it. Go to system/app and search application you need. I don't remember it's name. May be "route6"

But I suggest you to update to 10.04 LTS. 9.04 is not supported now but 10.04 yes.

Also because of new License of Java from Oracle, the new packages of sun-java were removed from repositories (in 11.10 there is no sun-java even in partner repo)

Nobody seems to be answered my question here, whereas make a new thread seems promising but that's against the rule... :(

I have my unit for about 3 months already and if my memory serves me right. I think i have flashed it for more than ten times already. And as of now i don't see any problem so far. :)
