How are you charging ? Hopefully via the fastboot battery script, or with the phone off. Other charge methods don't work with a relocked bootloader. Yeah only via a custom recovery that supports it !

Dear Mr Hofs,

My Brilliant HTC One X has quietly passed away. :crying:

After I left it for charging I was unable to get it over 3608 mvolts, it went up as high as 3500
When i used the script things got worse..
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1658084&page=25

I have left it for charging for the last half a day and nothing seems to increase it to a full charge.

When i try to get it to recovery mode it reboots probably because one of the RUU that i ran earlier was run not in the rebootRUU mode.
I think this is probably the end of the road for my faithful HTC.

Keep trying to get it to 3600-3700 and unlock the bootloader and flash this recovery

https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqzlpqo8illa53j/Philz recovery 5.15.9.img

After that you enter it and put the phone on charge. It charges inside the recovery. Then we can try some more things.

Buried the phone in a locker and went for a holiday, came back after two weeks and the bootloop had stopped.
Charge managed to hit a 3500+ and it took the unlock bootloader command.

Mr Hofs if you are still alive. Would love to start again, but this time very cautious.
Flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0
So can i summarize that now I need to do the following:

Fastboot oem lock
Fastboot oem rebootRUU

Then execute this ruu with admin rights

http://www.androidruu.com/getdownloa...281_signed.exe

http://www.androidruu.com/getdownloa...743_signed.exe

http://www.androidruu.com/getdownloa...245_signed.exe

http://www.androidruu.com/getdownloa...434_signed.exe

Do i still need to flash the firmware.zip as per the last instruction?
Do i still need to flash 2.17.707 and 3.14.707?

Kindly help to provide precise instructions to a slowboot rookie

Hi .....yeah barely alive :) I'm back from the dead !

But yes you need to put the phone in fastboot mode and only relock the bootloader. Do not execute the FASTBOOT REBOOT RUU command. Not needed for installing a ruu.

Put the phone with the relocked bootloader in the fastboot mode and execute the ruu's with administrator rights !

No no need for a firmware flash if you go for the ruu's

I would go for the 2.17 first. The hboot should get updated to 1.12 if that succeeds you install the 2.17 ruu and boot it up. Then run the 3.14 ruu.

OK here is the progress:

I I flashed 2.17 and the outcome was a HBOOT to 1.12 then i used \JBFWTools tools to get it up to 1.36.
I think is as good as it gets to upgrading..

So now i am

ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.36.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-5.1204.162.29
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
Nov 16 2012, 18:32:39

Then i tried to uprade to ViperXL_4.2.0
Upgrade had no issues but i am stuck at

I am stuck at 'HTC quietly brilliant' screen.

Viper X 404 by Seb thats not a rom.

Do this !

Download VIPER X 4.0.7 from the original android section in this part of the forum !
Flash the boot.img from the rom.zip and then enter the recovery and make a FULL wipe. Install the rom and choose in the aroma for a CACHE WIPE ONLY and FULL INSTALL......reboot and enjoy !

Peace at last!

All is good, Viper is in HTC One X, just one thing, if I deselect some less important applications like picasa then the installation does not proceed to 100% it stops before that. Otherwise all is perfect!

I am still the proud owner of a HTC desire with mildwild and I am sure the one x will last another 3 to 4 years now. One reason why i love android / open source and sharing unlike the fruit company.

Thanks Mr Hofs!

In fastboot mode run the command - fastboot oem rebootRUU

You'll see a black screen with HTC logo.
    After this, run the RUU

Sent from my HTC One X

That's not how you run a ruu ! A ruu is with the phone in the bootloader (with a relocked or locked bootloader) then right click the ruu.exe and select run as administrator. The problem could be the low hboot. It might not be able to update the hboot with big steps like these !

A firmware flash might solve that (and that's where you need that particular command)
