I recently switched to a Galaxy S3 and I wanted to experiment with this. Is this working still?
I downloaded the necessary files from the thread above (OP links are dead).

Tried the 000001 PRL to no avail.
Tried the Sprint VZW PRL (just for S and Gs) to no avail.

Take into consideration, I am in Puerto Rico and we do not have Verizon here...

Thanks!

Links not working

The links to the sites aren't working for the apk takes you to advertising and the prl takes you to a restricted university site. Please re-upload.

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
I know silly question,
but if you saw the episode of the "big bang theory" where Horowitz gets his junk stuck in a mechanical hand.
The "geniuses" try everything before taking him to the hospital where the nurse ends up pulling the power cord which resets the machine. Thereby saving the dude his stuff, but not his dignity. :D

I'm in Pittsburgh and I need to find a good Prl for my area. I'm on the 01120 Prl. Is there a better one for my area?

Hi there.

I just wanted to quickly share the problem I was having and the solution I discovered . I recently got a new job at a car dealer that was using an Airave in the main building. I'm out in the shop so I only got 1 bar at most and no 3 g data just 1x because my phone would only connect to that stupid airave. On top of that I was not able to send or receive text messages and had numerous dropped calls and rapid battery drain. I called sprint but that was a dead end as I expected as was speaking with the building manager about a possible solution. So yesterday I started experimenting with different prls but couldn't get a good data connection with verizon but I finally found 1 of the sprint exclusive prls (52515) that completely solved my issue. My phone no longer connects to the airave and I now have 4-6 bars always and great data speed (in Sprint terms).

For anyone who has dealt with an airave you know how horrible they are if you're not in the same room. In fact I've filed a complaint with the FCC asking for a revaluation of the sprint airave due to the havoc it creates for anyone on the outer edge of its signal. Just ask those in apartment complexes, and sprints solution is to just get another airave. Not only that, I'm concerned that Sprint is much too careless in deploying these devices. A few weeks back I called about less than great signal at my house and was told the closest tower was down for maintenance, which was good to know. Then, to my shock, without even asking the rep tried to offer me an airave and described it as a "signal booster" which it is not in any sense of the description. I immediately declined and expressed my distaste for the dead zone they create. I just can't believe Sprint is offering these to people for issues that will be resolved so quickly, very troubling.

Hope this helps someone out there.

You know 52515 is Verizon prl that's why it doesn't connect to the Airave. But glad you got it working ;)

Yes, that was just the only one that seemed to work for me.

Also after complaining to sprint for deploying an airave to such a large business they seemed very concerned. The rep told me the airave is only intended for household use and may be against FCC rules to use in this setting. Problem is at least half a dozen people have sprint and the airave can only handle 3 calls, creating interference with my signal to the full capacity tower. Either way my goal is to get this device removed. Or just screw Sprint when they get pissed about the roaming.

Thanks for the files! I do however have 1 question......what exactly is the difference between Sprint Business PRL's and normal sprint PRL's? Does sprint reserve certain frequencies for business class customers or do they have a special partnership with other carriers (or both)?

Went and updated to sprint's latest one and got 250 kbps
Just updated to that latest verizon one you posted (52515) and I'm getting 1244 kbps down and 318 up.

Nope, he isn't the only one. The page isn't down, but is giving an access denied to me from my phone and work PC. It looks like they have some sort of IP filtering setup. :(

How To: Hack the HTC EVO
A Guide On Accessing 3G Networks Without EVDO Coverage From Sprint

As of Android Froyo 2.2 the stock EPST app no longer contains ##PRL# functionality. In order to fix this, download THIS apk file and use Root Explorer to copy the DL over the EPST in /system/app/ (must be mounted as R/W. Long click the file->Permissions->check all. Then single click the new EPST.apk and install it.

Step 1: Obtain your MSL (Master Subsidy Lock). This can be achieved by calling *2 on the the default android phone application. A Sprint Support Assistant will answer your call - kindly request that they provide you with the Master Subsidy Lock for your phone. If, for whatever reason, the support personnel is unable to complete your request, follow this tutorial by techwerkz to obtain the MSL.

Step 2: Navigate to this tutorial on your EVO phone's default web browser and download the following PRL file: Techknowfile's 00001 epic PRL
    • If you weren't prompted to download the file and instead see a white web page filled with text jargon on it, press the menu button on your phone and click "save page" as 00001.prl
    • Alternatively, you may download the zipped version of my PRL file: Techknowfile's zipped 00001 epic PRL
Step 3: Dial ##775#. Enter your MSL into the password box that appears >> hit OK >> tap on the "Update PRL" button. Make sure "All Folders" and "Type: prl files" are selected. You should see the downloaded PRL (00001.prl) on the list; Select the PRL >> Press Menu >> Commit.

    • If dialing ##775# doesn't reveal the password prompt, please ensure that the EPST.apk file listed at the top of this tutorial has been properly installed.

If you get a 3g connection from this but it keeps dropping, try turning OFF data roaming. Thanks |Jason8|

    How to undo the hack
If for whatever reason you wish to reverse this change, all you have to do is update the PRL through your EVO.

FAQ removed to make the post seem less daunting... maybe more people will read it all.

The following will change when the hack is applied:
    • Dialing *2 after implementing the hack will connect you to VERIZONS activation/customer service line.
    • Ping (Latency) increase
    • Every time you make a phone call the phone will beep twice at the start of the ringing.

Alright, finally got them extracted and such. And I've repacked them and added my own.

All of S14's are in folders, mine are not. I have a few updated ones.
