So if I am currently running a stock rooted gingerbread rom (the one on the cleanrom site) and I want to flash 4.2 all i have to do is place 4.2 on my sd card, make a backup, wipe, flash, flash kernel/boot, enjoy? Or do I have to flash the leaked RUU or something?

Hold down the clock then slide it to the Edit box that shows up in the top left corner. Then select current location and the next box should be Enable full screen animations. I just tried it and it worked fine.

After you relock make sure you run through the RUU Twice. Did you go through twice before? It doesn't sound like you did. The symptoms you explained are that of old firmware on the newer ROMS.

I followed your noob friendly guide for root and then the instructions for flashing the rom

relock succesful

trying to root again

after i type the command "adb reboot bootloader" the phone reboots to the bootloader but then I loose connection. I type "fastboot devices" and I do not get a serial number

You have to press power one time. You are in bootloader and you need to be in fastboot.

Replacement phone arrived

I got the replacement phone from VZW to replace my portable space heater..I mean my defective phone that would reach temps of 148F. Sadly I didn't get my wish of having an S-off phone sent to me, but still happy. I think I am going to wait for the official ICS OTA to come out before unlocking and rooting again. Two reasons for this decision, one I am not 100% sure that it wasn't partly the leaked RUU that had it in for my phones battery and the heat issues, and two I like to watch videos I can rent from the Google Playtime Market and I haven't found a hacked video app that will allow you to play those movies if you are rooted. I used the one someone posted at Droid Life when I was running GB ROMs, but it wouldn't work after the new RUU, even before I unlocked and installed Scott's CleanROM 4.0.

Scott, you are great, your ROMs are increadible and wicked cool, and I can't wait for them to release the official OTA so I can root and come back to the Dark Side of the Force. Oh, and sending another donation because you deserve it.

Yes, and Yes, lol. Got the new sim, but I am going to have to drive to a verizon network area to get the phone to activate. Road trip in the AM, lol....

Went on the road trip this AM, new sim card is activated, phone seems to be working fine, I think the new sim card fixed it.

Well ****ty day for me.

Spilled a pop on my newly built PC and ruined the motherboard. No biggie, I can deal with that. GO to McDonalds after troublshooting the PC all night to make sure it was just the motherboard (and it is) get back home pull phone out of my pocket, screen is cracked like a *****!

The good news is... I save my donation money for situations like this. I know its inevitbale that I will destroy a phone so they are fed-exing me a new Rezound and I will have it on Monday.

As far as the motherboard, well we will see. Prolly just order another one :(

What a 12 hour period I just had!

Poor Scotty :( I kinda know what you're going through. I'm completely computerless right now (being a CNS major kinda sucks without one). So if my phone broke, I'd probably just sit in a corner and cry all day.

You consider getting a good case to protect your Rezound this time around? If you're looking, I would recommend the Trident Kraken for the Rezound.

Wow, yeah, not sounding like a fun day. At least you will have a shiny new Rezound to play with.

I swear by my Otter Box Deffender. Dropped my rezound hard a few times. Was fortunate enough to have it fall out of my hand while walking on campus and kicked it mid-stride. No worries.

Same here I had my Rezound on my lap in the jeep and forgot got out and there is my phone flying like a bird in front of me the Outbox Box Defender kicked in and saved my phone as it dropped onto the ground and under a parked car next to me.

Buy a real good case or pay for full coverage insurance per month or do both and you will be good all the way around.

    Alternate Kernels

I have created a flashable 3.13.607.5 Kernel and a flashable 3.14.605.5 Kernel for the ROM.

Some people feel that the 3.13.607.5 kernel gave better battery and cooling than the latest kernel.

Feel free to download and test for yourself!

These are in old school method as to make one simple step for everyone. This also resets mainver to 1.00.000.0 :D

    Instructions
    1. Download to root of SD Card
    2. Reboot to Recovery
    3. Flash Zip
    4. Phone will reboot to hboot
    5. Press power one time so it will scan the SD Card
    6. Install boot.img when prompted
    7. Reboot when prompted

    Download the 3.13.605.7 kernel HERE

    Download the 3.14.605.5 kernel HERE

Np. Not trying to bite your head off or anything, but wipe is always almost recommended.

You get to go off on someone and get a thanks for that.

I post a killer ROM and then a mirror by request and I get **** :(

700+ downloads in 7 hours and I have 12 thanks. Im not complaining... But really?
