Here's a question....slightly off topic but...
I've just installed the keyboard mod ans the audio search function.
Once ive installed apk's from my sd card can i then delete them from the card ?
I presume they install to the phone and once done the sdcard can be cleared...Yes!?

the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog

this works really well

touch htc desire and keyboard is functioning perfect

(touch in that last sentence should have been dutch but otherwise works prefect!)

just install hires version and voice search and then set input to the IME_MOD keyboard.

I know this sound crazy but try speaking with an American accent! I found it gives 95% success rate. My sons looking at me strange as I'm dictating this post now lol. BTW I got no mistakes entering this post :)

Hmmm the space bar seems to be much smaaller now with the inclusion of the '.com' and ':)' buttons, is there any way to remove either one of these / get the space bar bigger?

Apart from that, what an unbelievable KB! The options settings are incredibly extensive.

Edit: nvm, I see this is only the case for the KB when used in a browser, and rightly so.

why you want to remove it? if you remove it i think you will loose speach to text

Hmmm, yes you are right. I didn't realise this would happen. I thought speech to text was a feature of the new HTC IME keyboard too... it being so large and all. I guess I will have to install the Android keyboard again.

Very good. The swipe and the direction key options this gives I find extremely handy. It has huge problems picking up the Kensington accent which is basically similar (less posh) to the Queens spoken English. Hardly registers North West (UK) accent either. Max I've had correct is 3 successive words.

I'm finding the touch keys more responsive as in, they have a lower delay to register on-screen and the next character can be typed in much quicker with this - infact surprisingly very quick. I'm not sure if that's realistic or just a mental construct...

You can remove the kb smiley in the config options by unchecking Smiley hack. That will just replace the key with the default kb key.

Yes, working well on mine. All the options were a little intimidating at first but soon got used them. Loving the voice search from long press on the search button too!

First post updated to v22b4.

I presume you cant install the updated clicker as thats in the system partition right?

I did not install clicker.apk it is the keyboard calibration software which on our desire is the same version as clicker.apk.

I do NOT create this app.
So, please do NOT contact me about it.
Because I have no idea how to edit or hack it to solve your problem.
Use it as it is posted here.

    Good news everyone :D

    Version v27, June 08, 2010

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=624416

It is now working with HTC Desire, no need to have root access!

    Voice input is working !
Plus bunch of other cool features (gestures, smileys, etc.)

    Question and Answer

Q: Do I need root access to install this keyboard?
A: No, you dont. Really, you don't need root access!

Q: How do I install this keyboard?
A: Download the "hires" version, unzip it and transfer the HTC_IME_hi.apk to the phone. Use app manager like EStrongs or ASTRO to install this .apk file

Q: Do I need to install the Clicker.apk?
A: No, you dont. You only need this if your phone does not use HTC Sense UI

Q: How do I activate this keyboard?
A: After you installed the keyboard, do long press on a text input field. Then choose HTC IME Mod as input method. You need to do this just once.

Q: Does pinch to zoom still work with this keyboard?
    A: Yes, it does work.

Q: Does the phone need to be connected to the internet to use voice input?
    A: Yes

Q: But, the voice input still does not work! I pressed the voice input button and nothing came up.
A: Make sure your "voice search" is functioning, press the "Search" hardware button. If you don't see voice search icon then install this:
    http://code.google.com/p/voicesearch/
    Install only the VoiceSearch 2.1

Q: How to upgrade from old release to new release?
A: Use app manager like EStrongs or ASTRO then choose upgrade

Create your own keyboard themes? Go here:
    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=654179

It is very easy, you just choose colors and upload image, done!

    Example:
