Glad to see the OMAP4-AOSP project is working as intended. @Ziyan and I felt that there wasn't an easy-to-find base for people to make custom ROMs for the Galaxy Nexus anymore, so we hoped by making a centralized project for that we could get more developers interested and willing to work on our aging device. :good:

Sir hats-off to you and @Ziyann ... You 2 are the heroes of Gnex !! :good::good:

    BUGS after a fresh install:

    #2-Upon reboot I get the Android is starting...Optimizing app 1 of 1 Google Play services and it takes like 5-10 minutes to complete. I installed the gapps-600-base-20151114-1-signed everyone has mentioned. Nothing seems to fix this?

    The major problem of Android Lollipop/Marshmallow devices like GNex is that the ART app precompilation process (dex2oat) is slow, and the latest version of the Google Play Services package (com.google.android.gms) is so big that its compilation does not complete in the allowed time (6 minutes). Apparently, it's not enough at all on low end devices for big apps like this. This can be disabled by adding to /system/build.prop :

    dalvik.vm.dex2oat-flags=--no-watch-dog

    Also, adding these lines or changing them to the values that I suggested can give a great improvement as the device will have less background apps and more free RAM :

    ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit=6
    ro.config.max_starting_bg=3

    Yes, I don't have a GNex but I wanted to help ! :)
