Doesn't quite work
I am trying to root an Aoson M33 tablet which runs Android 4.2.2 (after a system upgrade), using the new standard method.
This method does not work because the version of Superuser you supply doesn't work. Trying to root the tablet using this method produced a situation where adb successfully produced a root shell, but anything run on the tablet itself failed. Trying to user a terminal program on the tablet and running su gave me an error message about INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS_FULL which seems to be a known issue with Superuser. I replaced it with Koosh superuser and it then worked.

So I was trying this awesome method on my Panasonic Eluga (dl1) but I was unfortunate.
Anyone got some advice for me?

So i just received a new tablet Nextway F8X its a Chinese 8 inch tablet. I really wanted to root it so i tried your method but nothing happens on the device. I looked trought the menu and i noticed that there is no backup and restore app so maybe that is why nothing happens?
There is a screen shot on what the command displays.
Any advice would be really appreciated, thank you in advance.
Edit: Now it reached a point saying "path not found" for any part of the rooting process...

hi there Bin4ry, thanks for the tool to root, I've made a guide to help some users root HP Slate 7 devices, I have and tested rooting with your tool on a HP Slate 7 4600 model without a problem but the 2800, 2801 users are experiencing this problem:
The tool recognizes the tablet at first but after a reboot it looses comunication and gets into a bootloop.
I would give you more information but I don't have another slate model and the users seem to be too lazy to look for any real answer and they just restore an image and leave it as it is.

i made a small script which is able to root ICS/JB phones. It uses a remount timing issue in Androids "adb restore" service.
So normally it should work on nearly all ICS/JB devices, for some it won't but the idea may work in a slightly modded version
There is a case for Xperia T and Xperia S,P etc. phones, this phones run ICS but don't have android's native restore with adb, Sony has added a own custom "Backup&Restore" app, the script handles this cases too, just choose the correct option!

Normal Mode will not wipe any other data, dont worry! (only maybe your backgroud vanishes )

It works here, have you started the restore app ? On Xperia S you have to start the "Backup&Restore" app from menu and select the backup to restore manually.

- wait for the Backup agent runing by check the magic file "file44"
- check /data/local.prop correctly
- does not iterate forever.
- does not install busybox
- both win32 and Linux supported by same script. (the win32 port of busybox is used made by pclouds https://github.com/pclouds/busybox-w32 )
