So tempted to give this a try, but 7712 has been so good to me. And since 7720 is not optimized for each phone, I don't think there is a real good reason to update to it.

7712 isn't optimized for your phone either. But I agree with no reason reason to upgrade for everyday usage. I'll probably wait till the official release from HTC and at&t to upgrade. 7712 is pretty much perfect for me.

Samsung Focus 1.4 updated successfully

Samsung Focus 1.4 updated. I'll relate my experience.

First, unload all music, pics, etc. It does help the speed of reboots. Having a SD card does NOT make a difference.

Second, start with STOCK NODO. Let me reiterate. Start with STOCK NODO. If you've unlocked or done something else, go back to stock. Those that are running the most recent beta of Mango are exempt.

Third, read the instructions. Did you read them? Do it again. And again. Understand them very well.

Fourth, create the backup just like the instructions say. Make a backup copy on another device. Keep 2 copies until the official carrier-branded version comes out.

Fifth, if you aren't somewhat technical and familiar with hacking on XDA and firmware updates, STOP NOW AND DON'T TRY THE PROCEDURE!

Finally, you need a 1.4 device for now. 1.3 does not have the official NODO yet. Don't try it. You will fail.

Take this advice for what it's worth. If you don't believe me or trust me then don't try it. I was successful. That doesn't mean you will be. Tread carefully.

Now to go play with Mango!

I'm going to stick with NODO till the official release....I'm sceptic with the 7720 release installing it unofficial way.:)

its worth going to 7712.. i got it last night and its a completely different phone windows is defiantly going in the right directions with their software.

IT's true but the problem is that we need to revert back to NODO for the RTM,I have tried the 7712 not so long but i decided to revert back to NODO.I'm on HSPL which i intend to remove it but i need a stock rom for my phone.Incase I need to return back within warranty period.

How do I run the ISVTo7720 BAT file?

Edit: Never mind. I just clicked and dragged it into command prompt.

somewhere in the pacific
Observations after upgrading from 7712

- "not for resale" statement missing from boot-up screen;
- Zune no longer freezes during playback between songs (problem with 7712 on HD7);
- snappier program changes and shutdown screen

So my guess is this is a different version of Zune than the one bundled with 7712.

No other obvious changes noted between this and 7712.

Cheers

no beta has been optimized....

Thanks for that guys.
It's just Mango Beta 1 was sluggish compared to Mango Beta 2.
7712 has been nothing but good to me, have yet to have a problem.
Will wait until Samsung releases something.

Have not found anything different 7712 vs. 7720.

Can any one tell me?

IIRC. Nothing is different. 7712 is essentially 7720 but for developers to test etc.
7720 is what will be RTM and be shipping on the new WP devices.

can someone post their instructions is non-translated english? Once you update Zune to 2134, you move the RCtoRTM folder to the C:\ folder and then run ISVto7720.bat? Is that correct guys?

    Here you go (simplified):

You do the following steps at your own risk. The possibility to brick your device is low but it is there.

    What you'll need:
A phone with NoDo (7392), 7661 (Dev Beta) or 7712 (Dev Beta Refresh)
    Micro USB cable
At least 20GB free space on C:
External harddisc or USB-Stick with up to 16GB free space

Around 1,5 to 2 hours time

    1. Copy the content to your local PC
    2. If your Zune-Software is not Version 4.8.2134.0 deinstall it
    3. Install Beta-Zune (4.8.2134.0) from the Zune directory (StartZuneLocal.exe)
    4. If needed, install the flashing-tool "updatewp" from the directory "UpdateTool". Install the right Version (x86 or x64)
    5. Connect your Phone via USB to your PC
    6. Close Zune if it opens
    7. If your phone is build 7661 or 7712, continue with Step 18
    8. Run "ISV-Provisioning_Live.exe" from the directory "NoDoToRC" as Administrator
    9. The provisioning tool starts to back up your phone. This may take some time
    10. Your phone will now restart and be configured to use a special update-server. If needed enter your PIN or you'll be unable to continue.
    11. Close the tool only, when it says it has completed.
    12. You can find your Backup in "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update". Copy the folder with the last creation-date to a safe place (for instance your external harddisc). Without this Backup you will be unable to use your OEMs update later in fall.

Now repeat: "I have backed-up my backup"

    13. Start the Zune-Client (with your phone connected) and seacrh for updates.
    14. An update (7403) will be found and installed. If needed enter your PIN when your phone restarts. Do NOT disconnect your phone.
    15. Now youre phone will be updated to 7712
    16. Congratulations: You're now close to RTM ;-)
    17. Close Zune
    18. Cops the directory "RCTtoRTM" to C:. And only there.
    19. Go to C:\RCToRTM and run ISVTo7720.bat as Admin (with your phone still connected.
20.Various updates will install now. Your phone might restart a couple of times. Enter your PIN whenever needed.
    21. If everything worked you have now a Mango-RTM phone.
    22. Make sure your backup is still there
    23. Use mango and show it to your friends :)
