Had a close call. As I was flashing FF02 Full Restore somehow the phone became disconnected and Odin failed. Got the ""Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." message. Couldn't get back into Download Mode until I took the SD Card out. All is working fine now though must be the cable going bad.

Thats good all is working now.... Btw love the avatar. CIB recipient myself

Now the question...
Am I able to run Calkulins Bare Rom Converter on this?

My thinking is I would have to ODIN Calkulins Rogue Recovery Repack FE22, run the Bare Rom Converter from CWM, and then ODIN the individual FF02 kernel, modem components found in post 2 of this thread.
You can use any of the custom recoveries, Calks, Agats, etc.

Agat has a FF02 repack with CWM so you might want to just try that.

Flash the Full or NoData ODIN OneClick per your situation.
Use Mobile ODIN to install the custom recovery
Boot to Recovery and install Bare ROM Converter
Optional - Use Mobile ODIN to flash back to stock FF02

I think there might still be issues with the Email application and Exchange, I keep hitting refresh and all I get is the loading icon.

Hey is it really nessisary to have have normal apks and odex apks in the system/app folder ? I used nodata so I don't know if that saves from my last rom I came from (Ego v5.1) or was from the one click. Want to know if it is safe to delete them to free up space

Audio bug (audio cuts off on voice prompts in built-in Vlingo and some 3rd party apps like Waze) is STILL present in FF02 :(

Those aren't "normal apks and odex apks". When you odex an app, the classes.dex gets pulled out of the apk and made into an odex file with the same name and .odex extension.

Rest assured, your /system was completely reset to include exactly what Samsung delivered for FF02. It doesn't have remnants from your old ROM. You /data will have apps that you installed before though.

Oh okay I see. So it is not safe to delete any of those odexed files.

Notification Light Bug Still appears to be present. No Flashing light after Text (or email I assume) if plugged in and charging.

I agree on this. SFHUB's easy root method for this phone was one of my deciding factors for choosing it over something else. He has been a true VIP for this phone. Thanks a million SFHUB!

I'm curious, does it only blink while charging (ie red) vs charged (ie blue)?

I went back to GB recently to test something and my phone was fully charged (ie LED blue) but it didn't blink when I got a message. At the time, I figured, maybe I had to be charging (LED red) for it to have blinked.

Thanks Denys Vlasenko/chris41g for busybox, ChainsDD for su, Steady Hawkin/Calkulin for FD02+CWM-Rogue(repack),
sextape for FF02 OTA, qbking77 for video, id10terror for Odin 1-click suggestions, mavd5831, RainMotorSports for mirror(s)

You may have heard... the zerglings fought a noble battle against the samdroids and held their own for many battles, but were finally defeated on the EL13 battleground. Starting with EL13 the zergrush exploit is plugged. Do not fear, as the zerglings have enlisted their old ally Odin to fight the next battle for them.

We all owe our gratitude to sextape for providing us the FF02 leak. All your thanks should go in that direction.

This One-Click ODIN contains the STOCK FF02 Modem/Kernel/ROM for the E4GT.

The ONLY change was the addition of ROOT to the ROM. NOTHING else was changed. If you made no other changes, you WOULD be able to install an OTA patch update (based off of FF02) on top of this w/o issues.

This will NOT trigger the Yellow Triangle NOR will it increment the ODIN flash count.

This does NOT have the issue with the USB jig being disabled.

This is equivalent to using the Auto Root Package on a stock ROM. In fact, if you used that package to UNROOT (Option B) this ROM then it would become 100% stock. After flashing this all functions of that package will be functional.

There are two versions provided, a FULL Restore that resets your whole phone, similar to a factory restore, and a No Data Restore, which is the same, except it preserves your User Data. The NoData version is only suggested if you are upgrading or remaining at the same version.

    attachment.php

    Instructions - Video by qbking77 [ODIN One-Click / Install CWM / Review]

    0) Backup anything important and Disable any PINs
This process will restore you to factory software. All your Android data will be reset.
To be safe, it is best to archive your backup off your phone, ie on your PC or dropbox.

Note #1: Please DISABLE any PIN code you may have created to protect your phone. As a security measure, after the flash, Android will ask you for your PIN, if you have one enabled. It is simpler to have no PIN active. If you forgot your PIN then, after the factory restore, just enter the wrong PIN a few times and it will warn you. Enter the wrong PIN again and it will reset the filesystem.

    1) Install Samsung USB/Android drivers (if necessary) [USB/Android]

    2) Download the FF02 full restore One-Click self-extractor
    SPH-D710.FF02_CL663858_ROOTED-oc-sfx.exe [Mirror1 / Mirror2] (RESET user data)
    [MD5: b1575bdb1750328cc0446dacbbfc1412 / Size: 308,066,541]

SPH-D710.FF02_CL663858_ROOTED_NODATA-oc-sfx.exe [Mirror1 / Mirror2] (PRESERVE user data - do NOT use if downgrading versions)
    [MD5: 744f13735fde32a676782558f56d25ce / Size: 307,062,890]

Mac/Linux - Install 7-zip, then use it to unpack the individual ODIN components in Reference Section B (below). If Heimdall fails flashing all 3 files together, try doing them individually. Skip the remaining instructions that are windows specific (steps 3, 4, 6).

Android - Install ZArchiver, then use it to unpack the ODIN OneClick 7zip self-extractor file in this section (long press *-oc-sfx.exe, Open as archive, Odin-OC, select *-OneClick.exe, Extract). Use Mobile ODIN to Open File the resulting *-OneClick.exe file. Mobile ODIN issue - modem might not flash consistently. Skip the remaining instructions that are windows ODIN specific (steps 3, 4, 5, 6).

    3) Extract the package
double-click on the self-extractor file, specify the directory to extract to (instructions assume C:\)

    4) Start ODIN One-Click
    Navigate to C:\Odin-OC
    Full: Double-click on SPH-D710.FF02_CL663858_ROOTED-OneClick.exe
    NoData: Double-click on SPH-D710.FF02_CL663858_ROOTED_NODATA-OneClick.exe

Note #1: On Vista or newer, you may need to right-click on the file and Run as Administrator.

    5) Place phone in ODIN download mode
    Code:
    [B][U]Method #1[/U][/B]
    Power down phone
Wait for capacitative button [B]lights to turn off[/B]
Simultaneously [b]Press and Hold [Power] [VolDn][/b] until confirmation screen appears
Press [B][VolUp][/B] to enter Download mode
    Code:
    [B][U]Method #2[/U][/B]
    adb reboot download
    Code:
Connect USB cable to PC if not already connected
ODIN should show yellow COM port in 2nd column
Note #1: If you do not see a yellow COM port, you may need to run the ODIN One-Click as Administrator and/or unplug/plugin the USB cable after starting ODIN One-Click.

    6) Start ODIN flash process
    Press [Start]

    7) Complete - PASS!
When complete you should see a screen similar to what is shown at top of post
    Phone will automatically reboot
Status should change to green PASS!

Boot process will be slightly longer than usual during which time you'll see the 4G logo screen.

If you want CWM use Option D in the Auto Root Package to install FF02+CWM-agat (you are already rooted so Option A is not necessary)

If you need to clear NVRAM/Sprint data login info, perform a ##72786# reset from the Dialer and enter MSL.
Type getprop ril.MSL in adb shell or terminal to retrieve your MSL.

    For NoData install:
    - If you are getting random force closes, wipe cache/dalvik-cache
    - If you have troubles with Android Market, clear data from
    menu->applications->all->market->clear data
    - If you have troubles booting into Android, perform factory reset in ICS using the ODIN OneClick Factory Reset tool. Do NOT perform factory resets using stock recovery or privacy->reset, at least until you read about the EMMC superbrick/lockup bug and understand what the trigger points are and what you are exposing yourself to.

CWM update.zip for FF02 Modem and Kernel are in 2nd post.

Exchange FC bug appears to have been fixed started with FE21.

    4G instability probably NOT resolved

No UI to enable USB Mass Storage - Still Present
There is still no UI to switch from MTP mode to USB Mass Storage Mode. I think this is a mistake because many PCs do not support MTP or don't support it well. USB Mass Storage Mode allows your phone to show up as a USB drive when you plug it into a computer and is much better supported. Workaround and issue is covered in more detail here:

Adding bookmark widget causes TaskManager->RAM->ClearMemory to always scroll back to bookmark widget workspace - Still Present
This will probably only bother you if you ClearMemory often. Basically if you place a Bookmark widget in one of your workspaced, then if you go and choose TaskManager->RAM->ClearMemory, upon returning to your work area, it will pause briefly with just the background showing, then scroll the workspaces to the one containing the bookmark widget (to notice the scrolling, you need to be on a different workspace than the bookmark widget when you go to task manager), even if the workspace you were previously on was not the one with the bookmark widget - thanks omar04

About time we had a new CWM.

Updated 1st post to suggest FF02+CWM-agat stock repack.

Auto Root package updated to include FF02+CWM-agat

This recovery from agat63/chris41g was verified to be compiled against CM7 GB libext4_utils.a which means it should be safe for:

    1) wipe data/factory reset
    2) nandroid restores (nandroid backups are always safe)

By "safe" I mean it shouldn't expose you to the EMMC firmware lockup/superbrick bug for the above 2 operations.

Whether you can brick flashing ROMs is controlled by the update-binary included with a ROM and the ROM's install script. Even if your Recovery is "safe" the ROM you install may have an "unsafe" update-binary and it may perform the one dangerous operation in the install script which is format().

The only ROMs I've seen so far which have both these properties are CM9/AOKP. I spoke to both developers and they are planning on removing the format() call from their install script and replacing with delete_recursive().

Until that time, if you flash those 2 ROMs, please follow their directions and go back to GB to flash.

This is all based on code tracing and the only "testing" has been anecdotal recounts. We plan on doing more systematic testing in the near future. Follow this thread if you are interested:
